Chapter 225
Chapter 225:
I froze, my blood boiling. Slowly, I turned to face her, my hand still gripping the suitcase. “What did you just say?”
Eliza’s smirk widened. “You heard me,” she said, her tone taunting. “You’ve been parading him around like he’s Dominic’s son, but we all know the truth, don’t we?”
Before I could stop myself, my hand flew out and brought a resounding slap across her face. The sound echoed in the room, and for a moment, Eliza stood there, stunned, her hand flying to her cheek.
“How dare you,” I hissed, my voice shaking with rage. “It’s bad enough you had to drug a man, a married man, just to trap him with a pregnancy. But don’t you drag my son into this. You can be a whore if that’s what you want, but not everyone is like you.”
Eliza recovered quickly enough, her smirk returning. “Oh, Faith,” she sneered. “You should’ve heard the way he moaned my name. Even in his drunken state, he knew what he was doing. He knew I was better than you.”
Another slap. Hard this time.
“You lying bitch!” I yelled, grabbing a fistful of her hair. She screamed, clawing at my hand as I dragged her out into the hallway.
Her shrieks must have carried because moments later, Dominic appeared at the other end of the hallway.
“What the hell is going on?” he demanded, striding toward us.
I didn’t let Eliza go until he was close enough to intervene. She stumbled back, clutching her head, her face a mixture of anger and pain.
“She’s insane!” Eliza wailed, pointing a shaky finger at me. “She attacked me!”
My throat tightened as Dominic hauled Eliza to her feet. The image branded itself in my mind: the man I’d loved holding up the woman who’d ruined everything.
“She’s pregnant, Faith!” Dominic thundered, his voice full of anger, as if that somehow justified everything. “How could you do that to her?”
I laughed, the sound bitter and broken. Tears blurred my vision, but I would not let them fall. “She’s pregnant?” I repeated, my voice shaking with incredulity. “That’s your excuse? You have to protect her now because she’s carrying your child?!”

Dominic opened his mouth, but I cut him off, taking a step closer to him, my voice shaking with raw emotion. “You have to choose, Dom. Right here, right now. If you want her, then fine. But I’m taking my son, and I’m leaving.”
His face turned dark. “If you want to go, then go,” he said icily. “But Caleb doesn’t.”
The room spun. The air left my lungs. His words hit harder than any physical blow ever could.
“Excuse me?” I managed to whisper.
“You heard me,” he said, his jaw tight. “Caleb stays. He’s my son, and he’s staying here.”
Something inside me snapped. “There is no way in hell I’m leaving my son with you and this…” I gestured toward Eliza, who was smirking through her feigned tears. “This madwoman! You two deserve each other!”
I turned and stormed into the bedroom, scooping Caleb into my arms. My baby. My world. There was no way I was letting Dominic or Eliza take him from me.
I barely made it a step before Dominic followed me, closing the door behind him and locking it.
“Faith, wait,” he said, his voice softening.
I spun around, clutching Caleb tightly. “No, Dom. I’m done waiting. I’ve waited long enough for you to put me first, to put our family first. But instead, you brought her into our home!”
“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice cracking. He took a step closer, his hands outstretched. “Faith, please. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean what I said out there. I was angry—stupid. Please don’t leave.”noveldrama
