And he isn't the only one who can smell us.

Unmated males surge toward us, their eyes glowing with hunger, their noses flaring as they catch the scent of our heat. Nyx bares her teeth, a feral snarl ripping from her throat as she lunges at one, snapping her jaws just inches from his throat.

Nyx roars, snapping her jaws as she twists beneath him. The male pins us, his teeth scraping along our neck, trying to assert dominance. A growl rumbles deep in our chest, and we kick out with our hind legs, slamming him off us.

"Who the hell does he think he is?" Nyx snarls.

Before we can react, another presence looms over us, larger, stronger, and infinitely more dangerous.

Knox.

His scent hits us like a tidal wave-cinnamon, spice, and that unmistakable Alec musk. Nyx shudders beneath the weight of it, and I feel it too, my entire body going limp beneath his dominating presence.

Knox lowers his head, his nose brushing against our fur, inhaling our scent as a low growl rumbled through his chest. Nyx whines, pressing herself closer, arching her back as he rubs himself along us.

"He wants to mate," Nyx purred. "Fuck. I've been waiting for this since forever."

"No," I said, struggling to gain control. "Not like this."

But it is hard. Goddess, is it so hard.

Knox's massive body pins us, his thick fur brushing against ours; he grinds himself along our back. Nyx arches, pressing herself closer, and I nearly lose it.

I had to get out. I had to escape.

Before I can change my mind, I force us to shift back, skin tearing and bones breaking as I reform, human and panting and still naked against the tree.

Before I can even catch my breath, Alec is there, his hot, naked body pressing me against the rough bark, his hands bracketing my head as he leans in, his breath warm against my neck.

"Where do you think you're going?" he asks, his voice dark and thick with desire.

I swallow; my mouth dry. "I-I was just..."

He presses closer, his erection thick and long against my stomach, and fuck, do I want to feel him somewhere else. Somewhere lower.

"I asked you a question, Sadie," he says, his lips grazing the shell of my ear. "Where are you going?"

My brain is foggy, my senses overloaded with his scent, his heat, and his hardness. I can't think and

it's so hard to form words. All I can see is him. All I can feel is him. Hell, I think I can even taste him,

"I... I don't know," I say, my voice trembling.

Alec's hand slides down to my waist, his thumb brushing along my hipbone as his

other hand fists in my hair, tilting my head back.

Damn it! That is freaking hot.

"You're not going anywhere," he murmurs, his voice a dark, possessive growl. "Not until I've had my fill."

"Alec..."

"Fuck, Sadie," he groans. "Do you know how badly I want you right now? I want to bend you over right now and take you."

What's stopping you? The words are on the tip of my lips but I don't voice them.

I swallow as he runs his lips on my jaw right before his mouth crashes against mine, his tongue sliding in with a rough, claiming kiss, and I couldn't help it. I moan, arching into him, my nails digging into his shoulders as his hand slid down to grip my ass, pulling me closer until there was no space between us.

And then he lifts me up and my legs automatically wrap around his waist. He grinds his hips against mine, the thick length of him sliding against my wet folds. It feels so good that I nearly scream at the sensation.

"Yes," Nyx moans, in my head, "That's what I'm talking about."
