Andrew pulled Madisyn into his arms, kissing her ear, his praise low and intimate.

“Baby, everyone underestimated your strength, but I see it. I know this isn’t all you’re capable of. I believe you’ll surprise me even more in two months!”

“I’m not as amazing as you say…” Madisyn, a little shy at the compliment, smiled softly.

Andrew chuckled, enjoying the sight of her flushed ear tips.

“You are, though. You just don’t know it. Baby, you have no idea how fascinated I am by you.”

Later that night, around eleven forty, outside a luxury hotel, Evie had finished her meal. As she waited for her agent to arrive with the car, she saw a man stumble out of the hotel and lean heavily against the wall.

Evie frowned, ready to avoid him, but then she noticed his voice sounded familiar. Looking closer, she realized it was Waylon. Concerned, Evie rushed over.

“Waylon, are you alright? Did you drink too much?”

With his eyes shut tight, Waylon didn’t respond, leaving Evie more worried.

It was so late, and he had no one else with him. It wasn’t really practical to take him back to the Johns family like this.

After a moment of thought, she said, “Waylon, stay right here.

My car’s about to arrive. I’ll take you to my villa for the night.”

As she spoke, her agent pulled the car up beside her. Noticing Evie with a man, the agent froze for a moment, clearly taken aback. Evie quickly said, “Please help me get him into the car.”

“Wait, Evie, who is he? Why are you getting him into your car?”

“Our families are old friends. He’s always looked out for me. I can’t leave him alone in this state.”

Understanding, the agent helped Waylon into the car.

“What should we do now?”

“There are guest rooms at my place. He can stay there for the night.” The agent frowned but didn’t object. They had no other choice.

The agent drove to Evie’s villa, and together, they carefully helped Waylon onto the bed in a guest room.

“Thank you so much. It’s late now; you should go home,” Evie said to the agent.

“Okay.”

After the agent left, Evie headed to the bathroom to take a shower. After drying her hair, Evie checked on Waylon, hoping he had sobered up.noveldrama

But when she looked at him, his face was flushed and covered in sweat.

Evie called his name a couple of times. When he didn’t wake up, she got closer, noticing the redness in his face. A wave of worry hit her. Was it possible that Waylon had a fever?

“Waylon, I’m going to get you some medicine and a thermometer right now!”

But as she left, she didn’t notice that Waylon had slightly opened his eyes when she touched his forehead.
