Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

After Natasha did everything he asked, Zachary finally left contentedly.

Natasha couldn't help but feel that their entire conversation had been absurd. He had helped her so much, yet in the end, all he asked was to be unblocked from her social feed.

For half an hour after he left, Natasha stayed seated, trying to figure out where things had gone wrong.

As the night deepened, the sea breeze rushed in from an open window.

Natasha had just showered, and her hair was still wet. She figured she'd apply the ointment before dealing with the hair dryer.

The room was quiet as she completely focused on tending to her injury. Suddenly, a noise came from the direction of the bathroom.

From the noise, Natasha guessed it was the sound of a mirror breaking. For a moment, she stood frozen in place.

She then cautiously reached out to feel for her phone. However, before she could even touch it, the power in the room suddenly went out. Left in total darkness, Natasha had to fumble faster to find her phone.

Just as she was about to unlock her phone, a dark shadow darted past her. She felt something cold press against her.

Natasha realized too late that someone was right behind her. And the terrifying part was that Natasha hadn't sensed a thing. It was as if the person had materialized out of thin air.

"W-Who are you?" Natasha gulped nervously, not daring to turn around.

"Cut the crap. Find me a place to hide." The man's voice came from behind her.

It was strangely calm and quiet.

With her life in his hands, Natasha had no choice but to comply. She said, "There's a cabinet in the bedroom. It's big enough for someone to fit in."

The man pulled Natasha slowly toward the bedroom.

Just then, someone knocked on the door. "Natasha, are you asleep? If you're still up, open the door for me."

Xavier wasn't alone. Zachary and Quentin were there too. A broken mirror wouldn't normally attract that much attention.

She cracked it open slightly, and Zachary breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm glad you're okay. We heard some kind of fight and strange noises from your room."

Xavier shot a glance at Quentin. Outside the door, all three of them finally relaxed. "I'm fine. It's late, so you guys should get some rest," Natasha said.

Just as she was about to close the door, Zachary suddenly reached out, and his hand got caught in the closing door.

"What are you doing?" Natasha quickly pulled the door open.

She hadn't expected him to block it with his hand, so she'd used quite a bit of force.

Zachary didn't respond. Instead, he walked straight into her room. After scanning the area and confirming that за one was there, he finally let out a breath of relief. "Alright. Since everything is fine, we'll get going."

Natasha's heart finally eased a little. Even though she knew the intruder was definitely up to no good, the idea of the others discovering him terrified her.

She locked the door and rushed to open the cabinet, only to find that he had somehow slipped away.

Peering out through the bathroom window, Natasha saw nothing but darkness and the distant flicker of a lighthouse. She wondered how that man could've moved to another room from there. The ship's exterior was far too sleek, and there was no place to climb or step on

After putting everything back in order, Natasha caught a glimpse of herself and

was startled to find a mark on her neck.
