Chapter 1548
On the other side of campus, Fiona had just slipped back into her dorm room. She flopped onto her bed, pulling the curtain closed, just as Patricia barged in behind
her.
Patricia tossed her clothes around in a fit, shooting a nasty look at Fiona's bed. She hadn't realized Fiona had already beaten her back to the room.
"I swear, I need to find a way to deal with that little witch Fiona!" she grumbled under her breath. She glanced at the bathroom, its light still on, and gave the door a swift kick. "What's taking so long in there? It's just a shower!"
"Almost done," came a voice from inside.
Patricia let out a breath, relieved it wasn't Fiona in there. Her mind still simmered over missing tonight's fancy dinner at the Grand Oak Restaurant. Sure, their chicken fried rice was okay, but it was nothing compared to a spread of gourmet dishes.
It was all Fiona's fault! If Fiona hadn't suddenly claimed they weren't that close, Patricia wouldn't have missed out on that meal. What a piece of work!
With that thought, she aimed a kick at Fiona's bed, but just then, Fiona slid back the curtain, and their eyes locked. Patricia's foot hung awkwardly in the air, leaving her unsure whether to pull back or follow through.
"What do you think you're doing?" Fiona asked, eyebrows raised in challenge.
Patricia was caught off guard, staring at Fiona as if she'd seen a ghost. "When did you get back?" Patricia demanded, her brows knitting together. "Why didn't you make a sound?"
Fiona rolled her eyes and headed straight into the bathroom as soon as it was free.
A shiver ran through Patricia. She hadn't expected Fiona to be the type to overhear things. Maybe it was true that you shouldn't badmouth people behind their backs; they might just find out. noveldrama
Soon after, Patricia stumbled upon an anonymous post on the university forum spilling Fiona's personal info and some scandalous rumors. Patricia smirked, thinking Fiona was finally going to have a rough time, and no one could save her now. It was thrilling!
She chuckled quietly under her covers, but quickly wiped the smile off her face when Fiona emerged from the bathroom. Sitting up, she shot Fiona a look.
"Have you ticked someone off lately?" Patricia asked, her voice dripping with mock concern, hoping to see Fiona squirm.
But Fiona didn't even acknowledge her, not sparing a single glance. This blatant disregard fueled Patricia's annoyance.
"Fiona, I'm giving you a friendly warning. Cross me, and you'll regret it."
Patricia's expression, as haughty as a peacock, glared at Fiona, enough to rile anyone up.
"I'm talking to you! Are you deaf?" Patricia leaped off her bed, storming over to Fiona and grabbing her shoulder to force her attention. "Did you hear me?"
Fiona gave her a sideways look and, with a quick move, twisted Patricia's arm behind her back, making Patricia yelp in pain.
Their other roommate kept silent, not daring to get involved, worried Fiona might turn her anger on her next. She didn't want to end up like Patricia. After all, Fiona could be downright intimidating, and getting on her bad side could mean big trouble!
What do you think?
