Chapter 254: Can We Add an Abstract Lord?
Chapter 254: Chapter 254: Can We Add an Abstract Lord?
"Yes, now that your two identities are completed, I’ve earned 100,000 system points," Caicai replied.
The recovery tool for this superpower cost it 500,000 system points.
300,000 came from completing a previous task bound with Lou Yan Zhi.
100,000 came from Xiao Jinsheng’s task completion reward.
And another 100,000, well—those were borrowed after rolling, whining, and putting on a pitiful act in the Main God Space.
Even though it owed a debt.
But just thinking about helping Xuan Jiu.
The thought that Xuan Jiu would become its personal hitman in the future.
Cannibal Flower? Mo Jiao? Lou Yan Zhi?
Blast all of them into outer space!
Caicai instantly felt a surge of confidence.
Cannibal Flower! Mo Jiao! Lou Yan Zhi! Just wait.
I’ll have Xuan Jiu come and crush you all!
Xuan Jiu had no idea he was being counted on so heavily by Caicai.
Curious, he asked, "Can I complete this task?"
He regained his superpower.
He couldn’t possibly let Xiao Jinsheng handle all the tasks alone.
Sure, he’d previously joked about wanting to live off her.
And Mo Jiao had openly criticized him for living off her too.
But deep down, Xuan Jiu still wanted to show his abilities to Xiao Jinsheng.
"You’re not my host," Caicai replied. "But you can assist my host in completing the tasks."
"For instance, you could handle one or two of the incomplete identities, then transfer them to Xiao Jinsheng."
After all, Xiao Jinsheng had limited time and energy.
With so many identities to fulfill, it was impossible to handle every single task.
But if her Beast Husband, who was bound to her through the Unity Contract, completed them.
And transferred the identities to her, like Li and Shi Xie did previously.
At least, from the system’s perspective, this method would work.
Hearing that it was feasible, Xuan Jiu perked up.
He even reminisced about the identities Xiao Jinsheng still needed to achieve.
There were many.
Beyond the ones already completed—Demon Lord and Deep Sea Lord.
There remained: Cloud Realm Master, Technology Master, Illusion Realm Master, Prophet, Dragon Realm, Yin Yang Realm, Beast God, Sword Master.
His interest was piqued.
Though he wondered which identities were best suited for him to complete.
"Is there no Abstract Lord?" Xuan Jiu asked. "I suggest adding an Abstract Lord identity—I’ll complete it right away."
The group fell silent.
Great, he had gone off the rails again.
"Are you happy to the point of being stupid?" Caicai couldn’t resist asking.
"I was just asking," Xuan Jiu muttered weakly.
"Let’s eat," Xiao Jinsheng reminded.
One by one, the troubling issues weighing on her mind were being resolved.
Over the past few days, the oppressive presence of the Insect Clan and the Terminal had significantly diminished.
Everyone was busy enhancing their superpower abilities.
Thus, tonight’s dinner was prepared by the household mechanical robot as compensation from Caicai.
The robot was designed for domestic purposes.
Previously, it hadn’t been used, since there were always plenty of people around to take turns doing chores.
Otherwise, idle time would inevitably lead to bickering and arguments.
And also because Huaiqing wasn’t particularly busy back then.
Everyone followed a rotation schedule for cooking and cleaning to maintain a sense of daily life.
But now things were different, and everyone had urgent matters to handle.
Except for Xiao Jinsheng, who could still eat her Beast Husband’s expertly made dishes.
Everyone else had to settle for the robot-made meals.
Curious, Xiao Jinsheng picked up her chopsticks and grabbed a bite from Shi Xie’s bowl next to her.
After tasting Huaiqing’s cooking, ordinary food was hard for her to swallow.
The mechanical robot’s cuisine was a straightforward kind of deliciousness.
It was tasty but lacked a distinctive flair.
Still, it was better than Su Ye’s cooking.
Though not as special or unique as the pre-made dishes Li used to prepare.
Ultimately, she decided to stick to the meals Huaiqing specially made for her.
Savoring her solo dining experience, Xiao Jinsheng glanced curiously at Lou Yan Zhi and Ying, who were both engrossed in their meals at the table.
She could understand Ying’s enthusiasm for food.
After all, this was someone who could make raw meat seem appetizing.
But Lou Yan Zhi...
That, she couldn’t understand.
Wu—whether it was the Cultivation World or the Interstellar World—food should be available there, no?
"Is it delicious?" Xiao Jinsheng asked Ying.
Ying nodded obediently and, swallowing his food, finally replied, "Delicious."
"Is it delicious?" Xiao Jinsheng turned to Lou Yan Zhi. noveldrama
"It’s all right," Lou Yan Zhi answered.
"Then why are you eating so fast? Nobody’s fighting you for it," Mo Jiao remarked.
"You wouldn’t understand," Lou Yan Zhi sneered.
"In the Cultivation World, we eat Fasting Pills; in the Interstellar World, we drink Nutritional Supplements," Lou Yan Zhi explained. "I don’t even remember the last time I ate normal food."
In the Cultivation World, most cultivators believed that food left impurities in the body, and as their cultivation improved, they didn’t need grains anymore.
As for the Interstellar World, 91% of the planets were primarily mineral-based, while 8% had vegetation but were severely polluted by heavy metals.
The remaining planets were destroyed by the Insect Clan, where food was infested with indelible insect eggs—eating them often led to parasitism.
Moreover, the Interstellar World was a fast-paced society.
Efficiency was everything.
Most people relied on Nutritional Supplements.
While normal food was available for purchase.
The cost of one meal could buy an S-class weapon, and it might still contain traces of metal pollution.
Compared to the Mist Continent, the price disparity was astronomical.
Here, even though half the vegetation was shrouded in poisonous fog.
The Purification Tree ensured Lou Yan Zhi could eat without worry.
He didn’t care whether grains left impurities behind or not.
He followed his whims.
After quickly finishing one bowl, he got up for seconds.
By the end of dinner, most of the food had ended up in Lou Yan Zhi and Ying’s stomachs.
Su Ye suddenly contemplated something and asked, "Are you guys full? I still prepared some food."
"Really?" Ying’s eyes lit up with anticipation.
"Let me try," Lou Yan Zhi nodded.
Su Ye stood up and carried over two large plates of roasted meat.
These were the products of his culinary practice.
He tried the meat himself and, well... let’s just say it was barely edible.
But it would be a waste to throw food away.
He didn’t want to eat it himself, and now he had an audience.
The sight of meat loaded with every possible seasoning, emitting an aroma that was sour, spicy, salty, sweet, and slightly pungent.
Lou Yan Zhi disdainfully refused.
Only Ying obediently accepted it and even began eating.
Not only did Ying eat, but he also praised, "Your cooking is really great."
Were it not for his genuinely earnest expression, Su Ye would suspect he was being sarcastic.
Curious, Xiao Jinsheng cut off a small piece of the meat to try.
The moment the meat touched her tongue, her face contorted instantly.
"Why on earth did you put sugar in roasted meat?" Xiao Jinsheng demanded.
Even if sugar is added, isn’t it usually brushed on as honey?
"The book said sugar enhances the flavor," Su Ye explained.
So, he added a mix of brown sugar, rock sugar, white sugar, and maltose.
"And the vinegar? What’s the deal there?" Xiao Jinsheng pressed.
"The book said it adds depth to the taste," Su Ye replied.
So he poured vinegar—and squeezed eight lemons.
"Which book are you reading?" Xiao Jinsheng extended her hand.
Su Ye hesitated and slowly handed over a tattered copy of *The Complete Guide to One-Day Culinary Mastery*.
After flipping through it, Xiao Jinsheng tossed the book into her realm space: "Confiscated."
Looking at a recipe with clearly listed measurements but ending up like this.
Su Ye must have added "a tiny touch" of his personal understanding and creativity to the original cookbook.
"I think I did pretty well," Su Ye tried defending himself.
"Then why don’t you eat it?" Xiao Jinsheng countered.
"Huh?" Ying asked nervously, glancing at Su Ye. "Are you still planning to eat some?"
But...
Staring at the now-empty plates of roasted meat, Ying panicked slightly.
He thought the entire serving was meant for him.
So, he had eaten it all—none left behind.
"I didn’t know you wanted some," Ying murmured, lips tightly pursed, feeling incredibly uneasy.
Terrified he had failed to save any food for Xiao Jinsheng’s Beast Husband.
Would they stop inviting him to meals in the future?
"If you’re able to eat, go ahead and eat to your heart’s content," discerning Ying’s emotional fragility, Xiao Jinsheng reassured him. "If it’s not enough, or if there’s anything you want to eat, you can ask the robot to place an order."
At the very least, food was not a scarce resource here.
Xiao Jinsheng’s Mist Base was peaceful.
However, looking at these humans, one by one bound by Intelligent Brains and getting teleported away, the Terminal exploded.
The Terminal decided it had had enough of being efficient and cultivating terrifying food-related atmospheres; it simply teleported all the controllable humans directly to Cloud Island.
Originally, when Xiao Jinsheng teleported some humans away, the Insect Clan had already been annoyed.
Then the Terminal took it up a notch by teleporting the remaining humans to Cloud Island.
Leaving the Mist East an empty wasteland, infuriating the Insect Brain into a furious rant in front of Bai Yan.
Bai Yan listened with one ear and ignored with the other, her gaze wandering as she worked hard to suppress her schadenfreude and keep herself from smiling.
