My Aloof Sisters Asked for My Forgiveness

Chapter 769

The days passed quietly, and Dustin did not bother doing much. Every day, he casually fed a few piglets at the farm and enjoyed a leisurely life.

Patricia watched silently and often sighed to herself.

She spent her days racking her brain to figure out how to break free from this predicament. But the starting point was too low, and no solutions came to mind.

'At least get through this month. Spending this time with Dustin is something, at least...' she thought gloomily.

Dustin noticed her troubled state but did not say much to comfort her.

He wanted to observe how long Patricia could hold out in adversity before deciding how much help he should offer her.

If she lacked perseverance and determination, Dustin would only help resolve her immediate problems and ensure she lived comfortably in the future.

But if she proved herself resilient, he would give her a platform big enough to showcase her talents fully.noveldrama

A week flew by in the blink of an eye.

One day, they received a notice from the Yeager family. Zack had summoned all the family members to the Yeager family villa for a report on everyone's progress over the past week.

"You two might as well get ready to embarrass yourselves," Evan said specifically to mock them.

Given that the pig farm showed zero progress, how could they compare to anyone else? They would undoubtedly become the butt of everyone's jokes.

One day, they received a notice from the Yeager family. Zack had summoned all the family members to the Yeager family villa for a report on everyone's progress over the past week.

Given that the pig farm showed zero progress, how could they compare to everyone else? They would undoubtedly become the butt of everyone's jokes.

Patricia felt a heavy weight in her chest, and she braced herself for the scorn and harsh criticism awaiting them at the Yeager family villa.

The two drove to the villa, where nearly everyone had already gathered.

Patricia kept silent as their peers shot mocking glances their way.

No one had even a sliver of hope for them. Everyone was just waiting to see them fail.

Alex's expression was particularly full of ridicule.

He had been glaring at Dustin and Patricia with a smirk.

He had kept a close eye on the pig farm over the past week and knew Dustin had not lifted a finger. He was practically giddy and ready to mock them mercilessly to vent his frustration.

Meanwhile, Evan and Aunt Yvonne sat back smugly while looking confident.

They were hoping Dustin would not produce any results. Then, they could force him to leave Patricia and marry her off to a wealthy suitor of their choosing.

Everyone had their own agenda as they took their seats.

The Yeager family deliberately did not offer Dustin a chair, so he stood next to Patricia with a calm but grim expression.

"Now that everyone is here, let's begin the progress reports," Zack announced sternly.

"Alex, you go first."

"Yes, Grandfather." Alex stood up with a triumphant smile.

"Since I took over Skyra Shopping Mall in the city, I've been working tirelessly day and night to implement new regulations. Although it's been exhausting, the results have exceeded expectations. This week's sales have been promising. At this rate, we could hit a monthly profit of over a million and annual profits exceeding ten million!"

"Good!" Zack smiled with satisfaction and nodded.

"Well done, Alex. You've worked hard."

"Anything for the family, Grandfather. No amount of hard work is too much," Alex said with pride.

Patricia and the others felt a wave of frustration.

With the family's best business, there was not much to brag about with those results.

Skyra Shopping Mall could generate more profit than all other properties combined. The mall had been performing well long before Alex took over.

One by one, the other family members reported their progress.

"I've made improvements to the resort hotel since taking over, and business has improved. Revenue is up 3% compared to two weeks ago. It is exciting."

"I identified opportunities for improvement at Walter Farm and launched a new project. The outlook is promising, and I expect positive results soon..." While none of the reports matched Alex's results, they were all decent.

Zack nodded approvingly. He was satisfied that the younger generation was capable enough to manage the family's assets in the future without major issues. Finally, only Patricia and Dustin remained.

All eyes turned to them.

Patricia kept her head down to avoid everyone's gaze. She could not find the words.

The pig farm had made zero progress.

In fact, they were almost out of money for pig feed and had already taken their losses.

"How about you, Patricia?" Zack's smile vanished and was replaced by a stern expression.

In truth, he had never expected anything from Patricia.

Giving her the pig farm was akin to banishing her to the sidelines.

Before Patricia could answer, Alex jumped in.

"Grandfather, Patricia hasn't done anything. She handed all the work to Dustin. She's unhappy with the family's decision and doesn't want to put in any effort," Alex said menacingly.

“That's nonsense!" Patricia shouted angrily.

"Shut up!" Zack yelled and silenced her.

"Continue, Alex."

Alex grew even more smug.

"Everyone knows Dustin is just a freeloading bum. He's incapable of anything. Over the past week, he did absolutely nothing. He just lazed around and wasted resources. They didn't even try to manage the pig farm. They were just letting it fall apart.

"These two are resentful about the family's decision and refuse to lift a finger. They're not fit to handle any responsibilities. If Patricia can't even

manage a small pig farm, she doesn't deserve any more chances!"

Alex's scathing accusations turned Patricia's face pale with anger and humiliation.

"Is that so?" Zack's expression darkened as he listened.
