Nora

Chapter 14

Chapter 14:.

The management of the Finest Hotel was very strict, and room cards were also required in the elevator.

Cherry’s room wasn’t on the top floor, so she couldn’t turn on the top floor button even after swiping her room card through the card reader.

She pouted sadly. After thinking about it, he decided to return for the time being to the 38th floor, where his room was, and then go upstairs.noveldrama

But as soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she ran into Nora.

Cherry instantly repressed her desires.

She could keep looking for Dad tomorrow, but it was obvious that Mom was a little depressed and needed her very much right now.

Nora had called several private investigators, but there were still no leads. After all, if even Angela didn’t know where her son was, then his father might be the only one who knew the truth.

But negotiating terms with his father? He wasn’t a simpleton fool like Angela.

Just as she was lost in thought, a small figure jumped out and hugged her leg. “Mommy, I love you so much!”

Her thoughts interrupted, Nora rubbed her head and asked softly, “Where did you go to have fun with Mrs. Lewis?”

Cherry looked down at her fingers. She didn’t dare look into Nora’s eyes when she lied. “We just took a walk around the hotel. This is no fun at all. Mommy, I’ll sleep with you.”

Nora responded with an “Okay” and opened the door.

Then, she turned around to see Cherry leaning against the wall and striking a cute pose. “Mommy, if you miss my brother, you can look at me. I’m sure he looks just like me. After all, we are twins.”

Nora giggled. “Boy-girl twins are fraternal. Just like normal siblings, it’s very hard for them to be exactly alike.”

Cherry ducked her head in disappointment. “Is that so? I thought he’d look like me.”

Nora laughed and led her into the bedroom.

After bathing, the two were lying on the bed when Nora’s cell phone rang: it was the Smiths’. She looked down and contemplated for a moment. Then she turned off the cell phone and went to bed with Cherry.

When she woke up the next morning, Cherry had already quietly gotten out of bed and was playing with Mrs. Lewis outside.

She glanced at her cell phone. In addition to the dozens of missed calls from the Smiths, there was also one from her paternal aunt.

Her paternal aunt had been the nicest to her all these years. Because of that, her relationship with Lisa was also quite good. So, she returned the call.

Someone answered quickly, but it was her father’s voice that rang instead. “Here I was, thinking you’d already left the family, Nora!”

Nora lowered her eyes lazily and got out of bed to grab something to eat. “What’s wrong?”

“What kind of attitude is that? I have something to ask you: did you blatantly sabotage Anthony’s proposal to your sister yesterday? And did you even hit her when the sabotage failed? Besides, you’ve been saying you wanted to call off the engagement. Now that you’ve gotten your way, why are you trying to seduce Anthony again? He’s your sister’s fiancé.”

“…”

It had always been that way since they were kids. The moment she and Angela had a disagreement, Henry would blame her without even trying to find out the truth.

Nora was used to it by now. She said slowly, “Looks like he’s not her fiancé yet, is he?”

“He was going to be very soon, but now you’ve spoiled everything! Go back at once and apologize to your sister! Otherwise, don’t blame me if I repudiate you!”

“Do as you please.”

Nora was about to hang up after giving an icy reply when she heard Henry shout angrily, “Ungrateful! Not only do you disobey me, but you don’t care whether your aunt is dead or alive!”

Nora paused. “What’s wrong with her?”

“What’s wrong with her, she has a brain tumor! If you have a modicum of conscience, come to the city hospital. If not, you won’t get to see your aunt for the last time!”

“…I’ll be right there.”

After hanging up, Nora quickly washed, changed and went out.

When the elevator arrived, she stepped inside to see that there were already two professionally dressed elite women inside.

Nora closed the doors after entering. During the ride, she kept her eyes closed. She listened to the discussion between the two behind her:

“Isn’t it inappropriate for us to treat the master like this? This is corporal punishment.”

“What nonsense are you talking? The old lady sent us. Besides, didn’t you see that the master didn’t even cry after he was beaten? He doesn’t talk much either. I hear he’s autistic.”

“What, no wonder he seems dull and slow. I’m telling you secretly, but I felt a little good when I saw him being reprimanded. So what does it matter that he’s rich and prestigious? In the end, he still has to listen to us obediently! But what if Mr. Hunt finds out?”

“It will be because he hasn’t finished his homework, then. Mr. Hunt is very strict with the little lord. Parents go out of their way when their children cry or make a fuss, but Pete only knows how to put up with stubbornness….. Even if I don’t give him lunch, I bet he won’t say a word at night.”

Ding!

When the elevator reached the second floor, the two tutors got out and went to eat in the hotel restaurant.

Nora, who came out next to them, frowned. She felt exceptionally uncomfortable.

Those two had come from the top floor, so they could only have come from the presidential suite on the top floor. Therefore, the ‘gentleman’ they were talking about had to be Justin Hunt’s son.

Nora looked down and decided to mind her own business.

The cab she had booked had already arrived. She was about to get into the car when she heard a commotion behind her. Sure enough, it was Justin, who had come out with his bodyguards.

Nora looked away and got into the car.

Before the car started, the image of the boy who had buried his head in Justin’s shoulder as she carried him in her arms suddenly came to her mind.

Although she couldn’t see his face clearly, he looked the same size as Cherry, so he was probably the same age as she was.

Nora felt herself being pulled into the excitement. Suddenly, she opened the car door, got out and headed straight for Justin.

The bodyguards stopped her before she got close.

Lawrence had already noticed her pacing the driveway. He said mockingly, “Miss Smith, I know you intend to express your gratitude to Mr. Hunt for his help yesterday, after which he will ask for your contact information. We’ve seen these methods a million times before, can you try a little harder and use a more novel line of solicitation?”

Nora was puzzled.

In the distance, Justin, dressed in a black suit, held her gaze and entered the Bentley sullenly. He didn’t see her at all.

Seeing the car start up, Nora’s eyes narrowed angrily. It was a rare moment when she decided to intrude for once, and yet she was being misunderstood in that way….

She turned to leave. After taking a couple of steps, unable to suppress her anger, she turned around and approached Lawrence. He tried repeatedly to contain his anger, but ultimately failed. He said, “Mr. Zimmer, you should have Mr. Hunt visit the neurological specialists when he is free. Narcissism is a disease. Get him treated.”

Lawrence was confused.

Only after he yelled at her did Nora get into the cab as if nothing had happened and head straight to the city hospital.

There weren’t many people at the hospital.

Nora walked up the stairs and into the VIP ward.

She still hadn’t seen her aunt when Henry stormed toward her and threw the contract in her face. “Nora, you have to sign the property assignment contract today, AND also apologize to your sister! Otherwise, don’t dream of saving your aunt!”
