Nora

Chapter 7

Chapter 7:.

Nora walked into the living room and saw Cherry in her pajamas with her cell phone in her hand. She was sitting cross-legged and playing happily with the game audio on.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, the girl turned and looked over.

Seeing that Nora was about to get angry, she flashed a bright smile and blinked her big round eyes. “Mommy, you’re finally back. I was so bored. I missed you so much.”

“…”

Nora sighed quietly.

Wasn’t the reason Cherry played every day precisely because she was busy or sleeping, and didn’t have time to be with her?

She resisted the drowsiness and the desire to immediately crawl into bed, and said, “Clean up the place, Cherry. We’re going to dine out tonight.”

Mrs. Lewis asked, “What would you like to wear tonight, Cherry?”

Cherry thought seriously. “The little gray Gucci suit!”

Nora frowned. “You’re wearing boy’s clothes again?”

Cherry had a pet peeve: she liked to go out with her dressed like a little boy.

She kept looking at the phone. “Uh-huh. This round ends soon. Mommy, what are we having?”

Nora reached over and picked up her cell phone before answering, “We’re having pizza downstairs.” Then, she turned off the game.

“Hey! We’re going on a raid soon. You…”

An irritated Cherry was about to throw a tantrum, and was even about to curse. However, when her eyes met Nora’s, the girl pursed her lips and let a word slip from between her teeth: “Let’s go.”

In the next room.

Pete stared at his cell phone. ‘sweetcherry’ had disconnected from the game, and the voice call had also disconnected.

He felt a small sense of defeat deep in his heart.

Chester Hunt, who was sitting on the couch, breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of him. “Boy, you’re finally done. My tyrant big brother is coming back soon, so hurry up and clean the place.”

Pete, who looked sullen, didn’t speak.

Chester walked over and looked at his cell phone. “Who are you playing with? You seem very reluctant to log off. If you want to play again, why don’t I play with you next time? I’m very good. I’m in the top ten players on the local server. The best player on the server, sweetcherry, is our team leader, and the two of us are online friends. I’ll make her let you join and play together next time…”

Seeing him, Pete turned off the screen and stood up. “Uncle Chester, I want to eat pizza.”

Chester suddenly felt a headache coming on. “Come on, behave yourself. Justin’s not going to go along with that.”noveldrama

As the only grandson of the Hunts, Pete was treated like a VIP. His daily schedule was scientifically planned, and he executed it in strict accordance with the calendar.

Although he didn’t attend classes, he was busier than the adults.

Since Justin wasn’t around today, and Chester took great pity on his poor little nephew, he risked his life and indulged him in playing all afternoon.

But… Eating out?!

This was definitely testing the limits of Justin’s patience!

Chester tried hard to dissuade him. “Yesterday you forced him to take you out for cake by refusing to take your medication, but this method isn’t going to work today. Come on, kid, behave…”

It was as if Pete hadn’t heard him at all. He went straight back to the bedroom and opened the closet. He was about to grab a random garment to change into when he suddenly saw the little gray limited edition Gucci suit.

He impulsively put on the suit and stepped out.

Surprised, Chester stopped him. “Justin’s already downstairs!”

Pete looked at him coolly. “Uh-huh. He’s fine as long as he’s not at the door.”

“…”

Chester watched him leave, feeling as if a shiver ran down his spine. He sensed a violent storm was about to hit.

A minute later.

Justin opened the door and walked in, his presence as strong as ever.

As he entered, a terrified-looking Chester lowered his head and greeted him weakly. “Justin…”

Justin, who was taking off his coat, stopped. His inky eyes scanned the room and his expression darkened. “Where’s Pete?”

He looked displeased.

Chester was even more startled. “… He’s in the pizzeria downstairs.”

No sooner had he spoken than the tyrant suddenly spun around, scaring Chester so much that he yelled, “I know it’s my fault, Justin. Get a hold of yourself… Huh?”

Justin had already dodged him and walked away.

Chester, who thought he had narrowly escaped, had just let out a sigh of relief when he heard the other man’s deep voice. “I’ll take care of you when I get back.”

“…”

The pizzas at the Finest Hotel were $99 each.

There were all sorts of varieties, and one could order their helping of flavors there.

With a menu in hand, Nora walked toward the empty tables.

Cherry followed her. Dressed in a little suit, her daughter looked very pretty, and there was a sly look in her lively eyes. “Mommy, I’m going to look at the pies.”

Nora blurted out an “Okay.” However, when she turned around, she saw her ‘daughter’ standing behind her and looking at her with wide eyes.

Pete was just trying his luck. He hadn’t expected to actually run into her again.

A bit of joy that had never existed before appeared in the usually taciturn boy’s eyes.

When Nora saw him stare silently at her with a menu in his hand, she asked in confusion, “Didn’t you find the pie counter, baby?”

“Baby…”

Pete blushed.

Although his grandparents also called him that from time to time at home, the woman’s voice was quiet and lazy, actually sounding exceptionally affectionate.

Her eyes suddenly turned red, and she asked sadly, “Are you my mom?”

Nora was puzzled.

She felt something was wrong with Cherry.

Was it because she had forcibly taken her out of the game just now?

Although Cherry was a spoiled little princess, she had always been a lively, active child. Surely not, right?

Nora leaned over and rubbed her head. With a low chuckle, she said, “All right, it’s all Mommy’s fault. What would you like to drink? I’ll order it for you, okay?”.

He held up the menu. “Do you want pepperoni pizza?”

It really is Mom!

Pete’s eyes widened. He wanted to ask, “Mommy, why did you leave me?” as well as, “Where have you been all these years?”

However, when all the words came to the tip of his tongue, he swallowed them all back down.

He, who had grown up being cared for by Justin, had difficulty expressing his feelings. He could only nod vigorously. “Yes!”

Nora was completely unaware of how complicated the boy’s emotions were at that moment. She took him by the hand and walked over to a relatively quiet, inconspicuous table in the corner.

Cherry, who was dawdling at the cake counter, looked at the mousse cake and then the Black Forest cake, unable to make up her mind. In the end, only after deciding that she would have both, did she decide to return to where her mother was.

However, as soon as she turned around, she saw a very handsome young man aggressively approaching her. He then reached out his long, shapely arm, picked her up and forcibly lifted her up. “This is all junk food! Don’t eat it!”

Cherry, who was dumbfounded, resisted fiercely. “Who are you, why are you ordering me around? Get off me! Help, someone is kidnapping me!”

The commotion attracted the attention of the entire dining room.

Justin had a stormy look on his face. Since they were in public, his good manners made him suppress his anger at last, and he said, “I’m your father!”
