Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 418

In truth, Nadine had been doing a lot of soul-searching, wondering how things had turned out this way. Was it just because Brad resembled Jack and had his heart?

Had it not been for these factors, would she have stayed in this loveless marriage for so long? The answer was an obvious no. A marriage without love was doomed to fail.

Nadine had been under the illusion that love could be cultivated over time. She thought her unwavering devotion would eventually win Brad's heart. However, she learned the hard way that feelings couldn't always be forced.

If someone didn't like you, it was as simple as that. It was like forcing someone to like bananas even though they preferred apples. No matter how many health benefits bananas boasted, they'd still prefer apples.

Unfortunately, it took her more than six years to realize that.

Brad's beautiful eyes were clouded with anger. For a moment, he wanted nothing more than to cover her mouth, to stop her from saying another word.

But he held himself back and listened to her quietly because he wanted to know what was on her mind. He wanted to know if there was still a chance to salvage their marriage.

He had always lived in a world where he didn't need to consider others' feelings. But for Nadine, he was willing to compromise. As long as she didn't push for a divorce, he was willing to keep his distance from Jean and avoid any intimate contact.

He had compromised-what more could she possibly be unhappy about?

"Nadine, I've already told you that I won't be alone with Jeanie anymore! What more do you want from me? I owe Jeanie so much over the years, and she's still unwell. There's no way I could just abandon her!noveldrama

"As for that agreement you mentioned, I'll tear it up! Let's just pretend none of this ever happened and go back to living our lives like before, okay?"

Nadine suddenly burst out laughing. The sound of her laughter reverberated through her chest, causing her heart to ache.

This was the difference between love and indifference. Brad loved Jean so much that he couldn't stand to see her hurt. Even if he had to compromise, it was all to ensure her well-being. Meanwhile, he believed Nadine was just throwing a tantrum, even though she was so¶nsistent on getting a divorce.

So, why wouldn't she get a divorce? Why would she stay in a relationship that made her unhappy?

Nadine didn't enjoy playing the martyr, and she certainly didn't enjoy putting herself through unnecessary pain. "There's no need to go through all this trouble, Mr. Hamilton. Let's get the divorce over with, so you can focus on looking after Ms Sawyer.

"I've already made things as easy as possible for you. What more do you want? You can't possibly keep meas your wife and still build a life with Ms. Sawyer. You ought to know that bigamy is illegal here, and we can't afford to break the law."

From the moment she witnessed how gentle Brad was with Jean, her feelings for him died, and she started learning how to let go of her love for him.

Nadine had reached a place where she could finally say these words without feeling regret or heartache. She wasn't being magnanimous; her heart had simply

gone cold—and a broken heart couldn't feel a thing.

"Mr. Hamilton, all I need is your signature. It won't take much of your time. As soon as you sign the divorce agreement, our marriage will be over, and you'll be free to be with Ms. Sawyer. Doesn't that sound awesome?"
