Chapter 1849
William's call came right at nine, and Colby showed up by nine-thirty. By the time Colby arrived, Harold was already there, waiting.
"Ta-da!” William announced, showing off his pride and joy. "This is my latest creation, Dream 19.0! This time, it's flawless. It's way ahead of The Silent
Shadows from over twenty years ago."
Harold nodded in agreement, “Really impressive. You've stuck with this for twenty years, and getting it to this point is truly something else."
"Piece of cake!" William said with a grin. "I couldn't have done it without the generous support from Colby and Mr. Aldridge, who invested so much money. Without them, this wouldn't have been possible."
Clicking his tongue, William continued, "What were The Silent Shadows thinking, coming up with such a fascinating scent? It took me years to crack the code."
Harold added, "Back then, The Silent Shadows invested a lot of manpower, resources, and finances, spending a century gathering a team of geniuses to create it. We've been fortunate to have this breakthrough, developing Dream 19 in just twenty years, which doesn't harm the nervous system and can treat psychological conditions."
William handed a vial to Colby, explaining, "The effects of this potion last only three hours. After that, it dissipates automatically. But a professional therapist needs to be present to provide psychological counseling."
Colby took the vial, and William cautioned, "Be careful when using it. While theoretically, it has no side effects, no one can really predict the outcome once it's ingested."
Barely had William finished his warning when Colby downed the potion in one go. William's eyes widened in disbelief.
This guy's got guts!
Colby settled onto the nearby sofa, surrounded by a clock, an hourglass, and a pocket watch.
William instructed, "Now, close your eyes and sync your breathing with my pace. One... two... three..."
William's voice was slow and steady. With his eyes shut, Colby felt William's voice drawing closer, as if it was coming from afar.
"Now tell me... what do you see?"
What did he see? Colby seriously pondered the question.
Upon closing his eyes, his mind was a blank slate. Following William's guidance, he opened his eyes within the dream.
Suddenly, everything came into focus.
"Colby."
His mother, whose face had become
6stant
memory, appeared vividly
him. His father stood bel
her
side, both looking at him warmly.
Colby was taken aback. This was the Costello family, but not quite the one he
knew today. It seemed to be from over thirty years ago.
He was amazed to realize that deep in his memory, he still remembered what home looked like.
"Colby, this is the kitten."
His mother approached with a beautiful tabby cat in her arms.
"Colby, it's part of our family too."
Her gentle voice seemed to wrap around everything.
"Mom..."
Colby couldn't believe his eyes. He reached out, wanting to touch his mother's cheek. She laughed softly, "Silly boy, what's gotten into you today?"
Colby's eyes grew misty, as if in the dream, a nerve had been touched, and he discovered that this thing called emotion was something he had too. noveldrama
