Chapter 1290
Chapter 1290:
Pushing forward, he fought against the fog clouding his mind.
The pain in his head intensified, but he didn’t stop.
Then, the mist lifted. The girl who had always been a blur in his dreams suddenly came into focus.
Before, he had never been able to make out her features.
Now, he could see her clearly. Her eyes, though unfocused, were breathtaking. Her delicate face was illuminated by a warm, angelic smile.
Even now, she drew him in.
It was her. Allison.
He had loved her so much in reality. It turned out that they had met each other a long time ago.
Their fates had been intertwined long before either of them realized. The little girl from his past smiled up at him. “We’ll see each other again.”
For a brief moment, Kellan saw the past and present merge—her youthful face aligning perfectly with Allison’s.
And then, a voice called out to him, breaking through the dream.
“Kellan, let’s go home.”
As night fell, the temperature in the forest dropped to an alarming degree.
Allison found a stone cave that barely shielded them from the wind and gathered some dry branches and leaves to lay down. However, their clothes were still wet.
“This won’t do,” Allison muttered to herself. “It’s too cold. We’ll end up dying from hypothermia.”

She glanced down at herself, realizing that starting a fire would be difficult. She then searched through Kellan’s things.
It was a strange stroke of luck that his clothes were made from waterproof fabric, and inside a sealed pocket, she found a waterproof lighter and a phone.
It didn’t take long for Allison to get a fire going.
She intended to dry her clothes by the fire, but just as she was about to stand up, her wrist was suddenly grasped.
“Don’t go,” Kellan murmured.
Allison froze for a fraction of a second before she shifted to intertwine their fingers. “I won’t leave. I’ll be right here.”noveldrama
Although Kellan never opened his eyes, he clutched her hand like it was a lifeline.
He seemed to be caught in some kind of dream. “Don’t leave me,” he said again.
“I’m not going anywhere, Kellan,” Allison assured him.
But Kellan’s grip tightened with every passing second, to the point that his hand started to tremble.
Allison knew then that he was having a nightmare.
She reached out and gently soothed his brow, only to realize that his temperature was shockingly low.
