Chapter 1294
Chapter 1294:noveldrama
“Kellan, that was a venomous snake! Are you out of your mind?” Allison struggled and tried to push him away, but she was so weak that her body wouldn’t move as she wished. Her mind felt hazy, and she could hardly speak. She knew she would faint at any second.
“I’m perfectly lucid,” Kellan retorted after spitting out the venom. Wasting no time, he bandaged Allison’s wound. “If you die, then I will die with you.”
Not once had he entertained the idea of living on without her. If Allison was no longer in this world, then he had no reason to keep living.
Without any antivenom at hand, Kellan’s lips were turning black. Beads of cold sweat dotted his forehead.
Knowing that their situation was critical, he looked at Allison and said, “You are our only hope now, Allison. There should be a signal up on the slope. The phone’s battery is almost out; we need to make contact before it shuts down. Call someone, and let them know what happened. Ask them to bring all the antivenom they can get their hands on.”
Allison wasn’t in much better shape, but Kellan had sucked most of the venom out of her wound, and she could just barely stand. She knew that the more time she wasted, the more dangerous it would become. They were teetering on the line between life and death as it was.
“Wait for me,” Allison whispered, staring into Kellan’s eyes. “Okay, Kellan? I will definitely come back and save you.”
She grabbed the phone and unlocked it. Sure enough, there was still no signal at their location. She needed to get somewhere higher.
Mustering all the strength she had left, Allison ran for the nearest slope she could find.
There was only one thing on her mind—she had to get there as fast as she could. She needed to run faster. No matter what, they both had to survive.
Allison thought back to the time when she went through survival training on the deserted island. She had endured the entirety of it somehow, so she could damn well do it again.
Whoosh!
The cold wind cut through her like a blade as she zoomed through the jungle-like scenery.
Allison had lost count of the times she had fallen. Despite the cuts on her hands and arms, she didn’t allow herself to stop for a single second. It wasn’t until she saw a bar appear on the phone’s signal that she finally slowed to a stop.
Panting, she quickly dialed a number. “This is Allison. Kellan and I are still alive. We are at the bottom of the cliff in the forest. There’s a river nearby…”
Wasting no time, she relayed their location to Fabian and explained their situation as soon as he picked up the call.
“You need to bring antivenin with you. I have no idea what kind of snake it was, but we were both bitten. Bring as many as you can.”
No sooner had she finished saying this than the phone’s battery died.
The call was cut off.
Beep.
Allison’s face was ashen as she looked at the now dark screen. She fell to her knees and choked on a sob. She had done all that she could. Some of the venom was still in her system, and after that intense spurt of exertion, it soon reached her brain.
