Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 1296

Chapter 1296:

She once believed that the night on the cruise was their first meeting. In truth, it had been a long-awaited reunion.

“Okay, I promise you.”

Kellan smiled faintly. He could almost see it—the future she described. But his voice was weakening, the poison creeping back, clouding his thoughts.

The world around them turned eerily silent.

They were too close to death.

Allison refused to sit and wait for the inevitable.

“Let’s go. We have to get out of here.”

She forced herself to stand, gripping Kellan’s arm to pull him up.

Waiting meant dying. It was better to fight for a chance to live.

Though Allison had managed to send their location through the phone, she never got a response from Fabian. There was no telling if he had heard her, or if something had gone wrong.

In the few seconds after she spoke, she had completely lost contact with the world.

So if the person on the other end wasn’t Fabian—or if something else had gone wrong—their lives were truly hanging by a thread. Time dragged on. Eventually, both Allison and Kellan collapsed by the cold riverbank.

The pebbles were clearly pressing painfully into her back, but Allison could no longer feel the pain. The snake venom had weakened her too much. And she could feel that Kellan’s breathing had also gotten shallow.

Was this really how it would end?

At that moment, the only sound Allison could hear was the steady rush of flowing water. A deep sense of unwillingness surged through her. She and Kellan clung to each other’s hands, their fingers laced tightly as the rain dripped onto their faces, mixing with the sweat and exhaustion.

Then, all at once, the world erupted into chaos. Distant footsteps pounded against the earth, growing louder, more frantic. Allison barely managed to lift her head. A blur of movement filled her hazy vision—figures rushing toward them, but she was too lightheaded to make out their faces.

“Allison!”

Lilyana’s voice sliced through the trees, sharp with desperation. Fabian and Lilyana were nearly stumbling over themselves as they ran, Gordon right behind them. Everyone looked frantic, their panic evident in their hurried movements.

They had come prepared, bringing the best emergency doctors and the most advanced medical equipment to begin treatment immediately. Allison tried to focus, but her vision was already slipping into a blur.

Familiar voices swirled around her.

It was her mother.noveldrama

“Mom…”

“Allison, I’m late. ”
