Chapter 1249
Chapter 1249:
Bryan then took Gabriela to her room, preventing her from clinging to Eileen.
As Eileen entered the living room, she was surprised to see Bailee there. She realized that today was the weekend.
“Eileen, where did you disappear to this morning?” Bailee asked, curiosity etched on her face. She put away Gabriela’s toys, her hands moving efficiently. “I arrived early, but you were nowhere to be found.”
“I had to take care of something,” Eileen replied vaguely. She settled beside Leyla, tuning into their conversation. Bailee shared her plans to undergo IVF, her voice filled with determination.
“Huey has made his stance clear to Winona,” Bailee explained. “Winona said she would accept me as her daughter-in-law if I give her a grandchild.”
Bailee was able to talk about Winona calmly now. “I’m not bothered. I want a child not only to secure my place in the Baker family but also… I’m doing this for myself; I really want a child.”
Eileen nodded sympathetically, aware of the challenges Bailee would face. “I’ve heard that can be hard. You’ll need to stay strong.”
“It’s not just hard; success is far from guaranteed. Huey says if it doesn’t work the first time, we can try again. When his mother stops pressuring him, he hopes I can stop putting myself through this,” Bailee replied.
Despite their occasional clashes and Huey’s thoughtlessness, Bailee felt grateful for Huey’s unwavering support.
Eileen bit her tongue, unwilling to share her pregnancy news, fearing it might hurt Bailee.

Just then, Bryan’s phone rang. He set Gabriela down, gently grasping her arm to slow her excited dash toward Eileen.
Seeing that Gabriela had stood before Eileen steadily, Bryan exchanged a brief glance with Eileen and headed upstairs to answer the phone.
As he turned the corner, Bryan’s voice dropped to a serious tone. “What’s going on?” he asked, his words laced with concern.
His expression darkening, Bryan quickened his pace, striding into the study to continue the conversation in private.
Eileen turned her gaze away from Bryan, her mind clouded by a growing sense of unease.
She couldn’t pinpoint the reason, but Raymond’s absence recently had left her on edge.
Bailee broke the silence, her voice tinged with curiosity. “Has Milford reached out to you since his trip to Wist Land?” Bailee’s concern spilled out. “He has been gone for so long. You would think he would at least call you. Is he really that heartless?”
Eileen’s expression turned thoughtful. “He hasn’t reached out to me. Maybe he’s seeking a simpler life in Wist Land.” She was uncertain about Milford’s situation.
“Two days ago, I saw a man in a suit and tie walking by,” Bailee said. “He looked uncannily like Milford. If I didn’t know Milford was in Wist Land, I would have chased after the man.” Bailee let out a sigh. “Their resemblance is striking, but what really caught my attention was the suit. Even if Milford were in Onaland, he wouldn’t wear a suit.”
Milford hadn’t finished his studies. Even if he lived in Onaland, he wouldn’t be able to afford a suit.
