Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1312

Chapter 1312:

Seeing Ruby’s genuine happiness for her, Eileen felt reassured. “I understand.”

She hadn’t intentionally kept her pregnancy a secret. She simply wanted to avoid the mixed feelings it would bring Ruby. Following this, Ruby prepared various nutritious soups for Eileen daily but kept the news from Bailee. Eileen understood her reason for doing that.

When Bryan was tied up with work, Ruby joined Eileen for her prenatal classes. Unexpectedly, Eileen encountered Presley there after her class. Presley was dressed in gray overalls, cleaning the glass along the corridor.

Upon seeing Eileen, Presley tossed the rag into the water bucket and grumbled, “Why do I always bump into you?”

“You came here on purpose to see me, didn’t you?” Eileen countered. “With your skills, even after the Deleon family kicked you out, you wouldn’t be reduced to being a cleaning lady, especially not at a prenatal center.”

She knew that she and Presley would not cross paths easily like this.

Presley glanced at Eileen’s belly, squeezing her fist at her side, puzzled about why the drug hadn’t taken effect yet. If she hadn’t been eager to know when Eileen’s pregnancy would fail, she wouldn’t have come here.

“I am just a cleaning lady here. I don’t care whether you believe me or not. I have tasks to attend to.” Presley then took a mop and aggressively mopped the floor, causing dirty water to splash onto Eileen’s shoes.

Eileen remained motionless, letting Presley finish cleaning up and leave.

Ruby was deeply concerned. “Why do we keep running into her? What is she after?”

It wasn’t Ruby’s first time seeing Presley, who seemed to always show up at significant moments of Eileen’s life.

“Just ignore her,” Eileen said, watching Presley retreat down the corridor. “Let’s head home. Don’t mention this to Bryan.” With the company’s annual meeting approaching, Bryan was too preoccupied to join her at the prenatal classes. She didn’t want to burden him further.

Once home, she used the upcoming new year as a reason to cease attending the prenatal center. She was three months along now, and the pregnancy was progressing smoothly. All her prenatal check-ups had yielded great results.

She was eager to attend the annual meeting because she had been bored. Lately, her days had been confined to visits to the hospital or the prenatal center.

Moreover, Gabriela was becoming fidgety, so Eileen decided to bring Gabriela along to the meeting. This way, she could relax and look after her daughter at the same time.

However, Bryan seemed reluctant about this. “The doctor advised you to rest.”

“Resting means not working, and you won’t let me work anyway. Can’t I just take Gabriela to the event to eat, drink, and enjoy ourselves?” Eileen held Bryan’s arm, swayed it gently, and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

Bryan found himself smiling, unable to resist the charm of Eileen. Because of Eileen’s pregnancy, he had been refraining from intimacy for nearly two months. As Eileen moved in closer, her delicate scent surrounded him, and her gentle touch grazed his wrist, sending a subtle shiver down his spine.

“Okay, but you have to swear you won’t be running around,” Bryan said.

Eileen’s face beamed with happiness. “I promise,” she said, her eyes twinkling mischievously. It reminded Bryan of the victorious look Gabriela often wore after winning an argument with him.
