Chapter 355
"Sophia!" Alex burst into the room, his voice sharp with panic.
"What the hell happened to you?"
"Don't come any closer!" she screamed, terror in her voice.
"If Gilbert finds out you're here he'll kill you!"
Alex didn't stop. He crossed the room in seconds, eyes burning, fury barely held in check.
He swept her into his arms, holding her like something precious and broken, and carried her to the bed.
"Put me down! Get out, Alex!" she sobbed, fighting against him with what little strength she had left.
Her body shook with pain-real, raw pain-and her cries hit him like knives. Each tear was a trigger, every tremble fueled the fire inside him.
"You're hurt, Sophia. Let me help you."
"Don't be kind to me," she whispered through tears. "Just go. Please. You cannot be here."
But he wasn't going anywhere.
Alex's eyes scanned her bruised arms, the swollen mess of her face, the blood trickling from a wound on her head.
Rage and helplessness warred in his chest.
Without a word, he pulled out his golden acupuncture needles and began placing them carefully along her neck and head, each touch filled with a precision that belied his boiling anger.
Almost instantly, Sophia's eyelids grew heavy, and she slipped into a deep, restorative sleep.
He moved quickly, expertly placing needles around each bruised area, helping to relieve pain and speed recovery.
He rushed to the bathroom, grabbing a comprehensive first-aid kit from the cabinet.
Returning swiftly, he began carefully stitching her wound, placing seven precise stitches.
Once finished, he covered her gently with a soft blanket, watching her peaceful face for a brief, intense moment.
"You're safe now. And I swear-whoever did this will regret breathing."
Then Alex turned away, his eyes blazing with suppressed fury as he grabbed his phone, making rapid, urgent calls.
As he paced, he stared out the expansive penthouse window, his rage burning hotter with every passing second.
It was rare for Alex to lose control, but this was Sophia-every wound inflicted on her cut him a hundred times deeper.
If he had been attacked, he wouldn't feel half this fury.
But Sophia was different.
She was his heart-vulnerable, breakable, and more precious than anything he'd ever known.
Then his phone buzzed.
One message.
His jaw tightened.
Alex stood, gave Sophia one last look, and quietly shut the bedroom door behind him.
The softness was gone from his face. What replaced it was cold, focused fury-a storm barely contained beneath ice.
In the living room, one of his Kingswell agents shoved a pale, trembling man forward.
"Sir, this is the hotel manager. He's the one who unlocked the door for the attacker."
The manager immediately tried to intimidate Alex.
"Listen carefully-I warned you. The man behind this is powerful. You'd better
leave while you still can. If I report you, you're finished."
Alex stared him down, icy and dangerous. "I'll leave once you tell me who touched Sophia. My girlfriend."
The manager laughed mockingly.
"Sophia? Your girlfriend? She's your death sentence. Drop her and run if you
value your miserable life. If you knew who you're dealing with, you'd already have pissed yourself."
"Me?" Alex chuckled darkly. "Piss myself?"
"Funny, isn't it? You should be begging me for forgiveness, dragging me here like this," the manager spat defiantly.
"Once I report this, you're both dead."
Alex sighed with chilling calm. "Seems your friend has made you very arrogant."
He glanced at the table and gave a slight nod.
Instantly, the Kingswell agent seized the manager's wrist, forcing his hand onto the table.
"What—what the hell are you doing?" the manager shouted, panic rising. "You don't know who you're messing with!"
Alex took a heavy crystal ashtray from the table and brought it crashing down onto the manager's hand, shattering the bones.
The manager screamed in agony, collapsing to his knees.
"Don't ever make things harder than they need to be," Alex hissed dangerously. "I'm not in the mood for games."
"It's Gilbert! Gilbert Guisie!" the manager shrieked through his pain.
"The governor's son, you bastard! Once he finds out what you've done to his woman, you're finished!"
"He already has your face from the hotel security cameras. You're dead-you hear me? Dead!"
"Why does everything have to be so damn difficult?" Alex growled, grabbing the hotel manager by the shoulders with iron force.
He forced the terrified man toward the penthouse's towering glass window, where
the city stretched far below in dizzying detail.
"You messed up," Alex said coldly, his voice as sharp as steel.
He leaned closer, eyes narrowing with controlled fury.
"Opening the door for Gilbert Guise-letting him lay a finger on Sophia-was the worst mistake of your miserable life. You get that?"
Alex's grip tightened. "When you screw up this bad, you apologize. You beg for forgiveness. Got it?"
The manager scoffed, defiance flashing in his eyes like a fool lighting a match in a gas leak.
"Mistake?" he spat.
"You're the dumbass who slept with Gilbert's fiancée. If anyone needs to beg, it's you."
Alex shook his head slowly, disgust etched clearly on his face.
"Seems we have a communication problem. So let me make it real simple."
He stepped in closer, eyes locked and unblinking.
"If I lose my patience right now, I just might throw your pathetic ass through this window. And if I do? get one last look at the
city-on your way to the
The manager let out a dry, arrogant laugh. "You wouldn't dare-"
He never finished the sentence.
Alex launched him with a single, brutal motion.
The man's body hit the window like a battering ram-glass shattered with a deafening roar, fragments catching the light like falling stars.
Then came silence.
The manager tumbled into the open sky, fifty stories above the ground, eyes
frozen in terror as the wind tore past him and death raced to meet him.
As the wind rushed past and death closed in, a mocking thought flashed through the manager' mind:
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
From above, Alex stared through the shattered opening, grim satisfaction mingling
with dark regret.
"See?" he muttered bitterly.
"That's exactly what happens when I lose control. I regret it now, truly I do."
"But guess what-you're already dead."
A Kingwell agent approached cautiously, handing Alex a thick file. "Sir, here's
everything we found on Gilbert Guise."
Alex flipped open the folder, his eyes blazing brighter with each passing page. His
jaw tightened, knuckles whitening with rage.
“This bastard has kidnapped, raped, even murdered nearly a hundred women since he was fifteen."
“And his family—his goddamned family-covered for him every time instead of stopping him."
His voice was ice, anger radiating from every word.
"They even slaughtered entire families who tried to get justice. Incredible. The
great and noble Guise family," he spat bitterly.
"No wonder Gilbert is a deranged animal."
"Should I mobilize Kingswell's Paris team to capture them?" the agent asked.
"No," Alex replied, his voice deadly calm now.
“Keep Sophia safe here until Lyra Thompson arrives. I'll handle the Guise family personally."
And without another word, Alex launched himself through the broken window into
the air.
At the heart of Paris, in the lavish
office of the governor's mansionet
Norman Guise sat quietly working when a thunderous crash shattered the silence. noveldrama
Glass exploded inward as Alex appeared, landing with fierce precision directly in
front of Norman's ornate desk.
"You're Norman Guise, Gilbert's father?" Alex asked calmly, menace dripping from his tone.
Norman shot up from his chair, rage mixed with panic in his eyes. "Who the hell
do you think you are? Security-!"
Before Norman finished, Alex
snatched up a pen from the desk and plunged it ruthlessly through Norman's left hand, pinning into the mahogany surface. fo
The governor roared in pain, blood seeping rapidly from the fresh wound.
"Shut up," Alex hissed coldly.
"Call every last Guise in Paris and bring them here immediately. Today, your
family pays for everything."
What do you think?
