The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 71

Chapter 71:

“Have you made the arrangements?” Hayden looked puzzled, “Where, at the hotel?”.

In fact, she would prefer to stay directly at the hotel. After all, the hotel had staff quarters and it would be very convenient to stay there.

“You can forget about staying at the hotel.” Joseph dismissed her idea outright, “There’s no room.”

“Oh, no more rooms available? But when I counted them, there were still…”.

“Get in the car.”

Before Hayden could finish her sentence, Joseph had already put her in the car and ordered the chauffeur to drive. The car drove straight to the gate of the Imperial Village. She had only stayed home for a day, and already she was here again.

Hayden forced a smile, “Mr. Beckham, don’t tell me this is where you’ve arranged for me to stay. This isn’t it, is it?”.

“This is it.”

The maids were already deftly moving the luggage into the house. Hayden tried to stop them, but couldn’t.

“I don’t think it’s right for me to stay here.”

“There are plenty of extra rooms here, there’s room enough for you, there will also be a car to take Stella to and from school. Besides, this place isn’t far from where you work.” Joseph looked at her.

“I won’t let you stay for free. You’ll have to make breakfast during the week. On weekends, you’ll have to prepare three meals a day, since Noah likes to eat the food you prepare.”

This seemed like a fair and equitable statement, in which Hayden could find nothing wrong. The cooks at Joseph’s house were paid monthly and were provided with food and lodging. Therefore, he was not being taken advantage of because he was cooking in exchange for the lodging.

” Okay, but I’ll move again when everything is settled.”

Joseph nodded his head with no expression on his face, ” Come on in.”

The maid led Hayden into the room next to the master bedroom. Originally, this room was just an ordinary room, in which Hayden had stayed before. However, this time it had changed quite a bit because there were more decorations in it and the dressing table was filled with all kinds of expensive cosmetics. But what surprised Hayden the most was that there was also a husky stuffed animal placed on the bed.

“I guess this is ready for Stella. Thank you.”

The maid replied respectfully. “Miss Stella has her own room. The young master said she might come back late from working overtime and it would be inconvenient to share a room with Miss Stella, so this room is just for you, and this stuffed animal is for you.”

Hayden hadn’t expected Joseph to make this kind of arrangement. She felt warmth in her heart when she thought about it. She shook the stuffed animal and smiled. “How could this be for me, I’m not a child anymore.”

“I thought it was because you’re not used to sleeping alone.” The maid looked quite young, she looked like a young girl who hasn’t reached her twenties. She was very shy and became nervous when she heard the question, “There are lots of toys here, so I took one at random and placed it here. I didn’t know if she would like it. I’ll take it now.”

“It’s okay.” Hayden hastened to explain, “Don’t be nervous, I didn’t say I don’t like it.”

Only then did the maid let out a sigh of relief.

Hayden stared at the husky for quite a while and suddenly let out a laugh, “This husky looks rather like your young master, it always seems like everyone has offended him, doesn’t it?”.

“Oh?” The young woman was taken aback. It was the first time she had ever heard anyone compare the young master to a dog. “I… I don’t know.”

The young maid’s reaction was so serious and shy. This made Hayden feel helpless about it, thinking it was because the maid had been lectured by Joseph to make her act like that. So he stopped teasing her and let her go after asking her a couple of questions, so he learned that the maid’s name was Emma.

Hayden walked around the inside of the room, looking at the new purple curtains, which were recently changed. She smiled in satisfaction because it seemed to her that the decorating style of Joseph’s house was quite good.

On the other hand, Freddie had been staying at the N City East District branch of the ST Hotel. Joseph wished to send him as far away from the city center as possible.

Freddie entered the hotel and listened to Magnus, Joseph’s assistant, tell him some of what Joseph had ordered. When Magnus finished, Freddie was so angry that he picked up Magnus’ phone and called Joseph.

“Joseph, you’re so clever! You really tricked me by luring me into having Hayden stay at your house.”

Joseph held the phone farther away from his ear to keep his eardrums from bursting, and said only, “You’re overthinking it. Based on today’s situation, you had no choice but to leave first.”

“Do you think I’m stupid? The reporter arrived ten minutes ago, and you’ve already arranged everything, including the people and the hotel. Be honest, did you inform the reporter that I was at Hayden’s?”

A flash of interest crossed Joseph’s eyes. This guy was pretty smart to figure out his tricks so quickly.

Freddie got no response from the other end of the line and at that moment, silence confirmed to him that it was the truth. He immediately raised his voice and told him, “You sly little fox! You’re a scoundrel, you have no scruples! I guess your family didn’t know about this! You are shameless to deceive Hayden, who is so innocent and naive.”

Joseph, who had never been scolded like this before, was surprisingly not angry at all. He corrected Freddie earnestly, “She doesn’t seem to have anything to do with innocence.”

Rumors of Hayden’s smart and sassy behavior at the hotel had reached the ears of the group’s headquarters. She was definitely not as simple and innocent as she seemed. Since assuming her position, she had never been treated kindly by the people around her. Moreover, she had now been entrusted with important responsibilities, which were not something someone soft and innocent could handle.

“You’re right, she’s not that innocent at all!”. Freddie suddenly changed his perception and said excitedly, “She’s particularly cunning, she could double-cross you and sell your house before you could stop her. So, get her out of your house right now!”.

The corners of Joseph’s lips twitched. It was the first time he had met a person like Freddie. He wondered why the people around Hayden were so talented. She had a best friend who could beat Kevin to within an inch of his life with her bare hands. She also had a friend who treated her like a sister, who acted flirtatious, scolded people fiercely and also threatened. He can do anything to protect her.

“I only let her stay at my house because Noah likes to eat the food she cooks, nothing else. You’re overthinking this.”

“I don’t think so! You could hire any cook in the country if you wanted to! You don’t need Hayden to cook for your son.”

“Believe it or not, Noah only likes to eat the food she makes.” Joseph’s tone turned serious, “Besides, there’s one more thing. The head of RX Corporation is a friend of mine. I can recommend you to his company. If you decide to join them, I’ll ask him to contact you.”

“Who needs your recommendation?” The voice on the other end of the line scolded him, “I’m in high demand, I don’t need your recommendation!”.

Joseph didn’t want to listen to him anymore, so he hung up the phone directly.

A guy like Freddie, who was confident in his innate musical talent and had a ready-made path, was usually an arrogant and stubborn person. He never listened to anyone’s advice.

After a while, he again received a call from Magnus’ number. This time, it was Magnus himself.

“Mr. Beckham, it’s all done. Ray-Trace Media’s agent will contact him and talk to him about the contract later.”

“Okay, understood.” After hanging up the phone, Joseph cracked a smile.

Freddie had just turned down his recommendation to sign a contract with RX Corporation. Therefore, he would no doubt be eager to sign a contract with another company to prove himself. If he was now approached by an agent from Ray-Trace Media, he would surely accept without hesitation, provided the terms were good enough.noveldrama

This was called, the diversionary tactic.

“Is it confirmed, have you shown him the pictures?”.

In the actress’s individual dressing room, the bespectacled man leaned his briefcase of files on the small table and sat upright: “I’m one hundred percent sure. Cesar is still in good health, his vision is still clear. He could recognize the woman in the photo instantly when he looked at her, he admitted she was the girl from back then. He thought I was one of Joseph’s contacts, so he told me the whole truth.”

Violet’s face instantly went ghastly pale. She clenched her fist, gritted her teeth and said, “I can’t believe it’s really her.”
