The CEO's Mischievous Little Bride

Chapter 694 Heavy Price

Shawn shifted Teddy to his other arm and pointed towards the door with his now free hand, saying to Patrick, "Head back to Cherry Villa, and don't come back to my place." Vera shot him a look, "Then give me my son back first."

"I'm not giving him back. He's my grandson!" Shawn held Teddy tightly.

Vera snapped, "Without me, you wouldn't have such a cute grandson!"

Shawn retorted, "Without me, would you even have a husband?"

The room fell silent.

Molly clapped for Shawn, "Nice one! Shawn actually won this round."

Vera wasn't backing down, "If Patrick wasn't my husband, I could have found someone else."

Molly, always one to stir the pot, chimed in, "Vera, stay strong, good luck!"

She then glanced at Patrick, who had been silent the whole time.

Vera hadn't noticed Patrick's intense gaze fixed on her.

Brianna patted Vera's shoulder, "Stop talking nonsense. You and Patrick are married."

Vera turned to look at Patrick and suddenly felt the danger in his eyes.

Even though she had won against Shawn, the cost of victory seemed steep. "Patrick, I didn't mean it like that. You know how competitive I am, right?" Vera stammered.

Patrick gave her a cold smile, "I have a strong possessive streak too."

Vera felt a bit scared. As Warren and Brianna were about to leave, she wanted to go with them, "Mom, Dad, take me with you?"

"What about Teddy?" Brianna looked at the adorable Teddy.

Vera shook her head, "I don't want him. He's an Olteran family kid. Let them take care of him. I'm always getting bullied in the Olteran family. Patrick bullies me, my dad bullies me, Vincent and Cindy bully me, and even Molly bullies me."

Shawn, pointing at Vera, his face red with urgency, said, "Vera, you're being unfair. How do we bully you? Do we even dare to bully you?" No one dared to bully Vera, or they'd risk getting a flying kick from her.

"Dare!" Vera said, "Patrick loves me to death, I have no personal space. My dad thinks I'm too skinny and always wants me to eat more. Vincent and Cindy think I'm tired from taking care of the baby and always take my son. Molly..."

"What about me? Go on." Molly put her hand to her mouth, ready to bite her nails, but Sebastian stopped her.

Vera continued, "She always comes back to our family to stir things up instead of staying with her in-laws."

Everyone laughed, except Molly.

Warren and Brianna thought Vera was showing off too much.

"Then stay in the Olteran family and get bullied. Your dad and I are leaving."

After a few more words, Shawn laughed the hardest, Cindy smiled helplessly, "Vera's brain..."

Shawn told his daughter, "Learn how to talk from Vera."

Molly replied, "Dad, isn't this the time when Vera is supposed to be making you angry? Weren't you two just arguing?"

Shawn said, "Talking to you is boring. I'm taking Teddy to bed."

Shawn carried Teddy to the elevator. It was safer than taking the stairs.

Teddy didn't mind who held him as long as he wasn't made to "sit."

Cindy went off to do her own thing, and Vincent called Sebastian away.

The living room was left with just three people: Molly, who was enjoying the show, a scared Vera, and her cold husband.

"Some people try to go back to their parent's house and fail," Molly said, looking at Vera.

Vera shot back, "Molly, don't get too smug. Your good days are numbered."

Patrick stood up, walked over to Vera, and without a word, pushed her shoulder to lead her away.

Vera took small steps, "Patrick, I want to go out."

Patrick looked at her, "Let your other husband take you out."

"No, Patrick, I was just angry. Don't pull me."

Vera regretted her words, "Patrick, I was just joking with our dad."

As they disappeared around the corner, Vera's voice could still be heard apologizing. Molly smiled.

"Patrick, I'm sorry. I was wrong. Don't be mad. I love you. My heart is full of you, Patrick."

Soon, the hallway fell silent.

Molly got up, seeing no one else around, and decided to head back to her room.

As she reached the stairs, she saw Sebastian coming out of Vincent's study.

Vincent followed shortly after, "I'm going to find Cindy. You two talk." Molly had to pass by Sebastian to get to her room.

Oh well, she thought.

As she tried to pass on the left, Sebastian stepped in her way.

"You!"

She tried the right, and he blocked her again.

"What are you doing?"

Molly's ability to argue vanished around Sebastian. She even showed a softer side.

"Want to go shopping? I just got paid. You haven't bought new clothes in a while," Sebastian said, standing tall and confident.

"I shop online."

Sebastian's paycheck was already halved.

He continued, "A new restaurant opened downtown. Want to try it?"

"No."noveldrama

Sebastian smiled and stepped aside, "Then go rest. I'm going home to change and head to the station."

Molly didn't move. She looked at the red in his eyes, "Did you work the night shift again?"

"You worked the night shift the night before!" Molly knew his schedule by heart.

"You've worked four-night shifts this week!" she yelled. "That's not how shifts are supposed to be."

Sebastian rubbed his eyes, "I swapped shifts with my colleagues to make time to take you out before you go to work."

Molly felt both angry and touched. She grabbed his hand and led him to her room.

Sebastian chuckled at her small hand on his wrist.

Back in her room, she pointed to her bed, "Take off your clothes and get in." Sebastian smiled, "You care about me?"
