The Day Our Promise Breaks

Chapter 463

"Don't even think about it!"

Evelyn fought with everything she had, frustration boiling over into a frenzy of kicks and punches as she struggled to escape Charles's grip. His eyes were dark and intense, like storm clouds gathering.

Fearing that Evelyn's fierce resistance might end up hurting her, Charles pushed her against the car, deciding to take control.

"Charles, keep your hands off me!" Evelyn's face twisted with anger as his hand moved to her pant leg, making her body go rigid with tension. Her struggles only intensified.

But Charles held her firm, pinning her between his body and the car. The more she fought, the closer they were pressed together. Evelyn realized this, her body stiffening even more, unable to move. She pushed against him with all her strength, trying to shove him away.

"Charles, you brute, let go of Evelyn!" Adam shouted, his eyes blazing with fury as he tried to break free from the two security guards restraining him. But Greenrose's security team was well-trained, and in his weakened state after the accident, he was like a caged animal, powerless to help as Charles tormented Evelyn.

Charles could feel Evelyn's rejection like a physical blow. A sharp pain spread through his chest, slowing his searching hand for just a moment. But then he pushed on, moving quickly. It wasn't winter yet, so the layers of clothing were thin. He soon found the recorder in Evelyn's inner pocket.

The moment this hand touched it, Evelyn's body reacted violently again, her eyes blazing as she shouted, "Charles!" But ultimately the recorder ended up in his large hand Holding it, he didn't release her right away. He lingered, pulling her into his embrace once more before letting go.

"Charles, give me back the recorder!" As soon as Evelyn was free, she lunged to get it back, but once in Charles's hands, it was beyond her reach.

"Charles, destroy the recorder," Dahlia called out from behind.

"Charles, don't you dare!" Evelyn's eyes flared with anger as she watched Charles listen to Dahlia and destroy the recorder. She was helpless, forced to watch as he obliterated the evidence.

Evelyn's gaze locked on Charles, her heart seething with hatred. Dahlia had done countless wrongs, yet she always managed to slip away, leaving Evelyn unable to bring Ker to justice. And now, even the evidence that could have ruined Dahlia's reputation was gone.

Evelyn slumped against the car, fists clenched, lips trembling.

Dahlia, witnessing Evelyn's defeat, threw a smug smile from behind Charles.

Even if you're the real Debbie, Evelyn, what does it matter? Without proof,

Charles will never believe you. In his eyes, I'm Debbie. He'll always stand by me, protecting me.
