The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1749

Mirabella glanced at the invitation lying on the coffee table but didn't bother picking it up. Instead, she kept her eyes on Jaime, waiting for him to continue.

Jaime noticed that Mirabella wasn't even interested in looking at the invitation, nor did she ask any questions about it, which made him frown. Finally, he broke the silence, "This is an invitation from the Earl's estate, specifically asking Keir to attend the party tomorrow."

The mention of the Earl's estate made Mirabella's expression shift subtly. Just days ago, someone from the estate had come to "invite" her. Now, with an invitation sent to the Davis family, it seemed like Chester's invitation was just a cover—she was the real target. With Chester out of commission due to his injuries, she was the logical stand-in.

This must be why Jaime had the old butler call her back to the main house.

Mirabella pursed her lips slightly, then nodded, "Alright, I'll pass the invitation to Chester."

Jaime was taken aback; her straightforward response threw off the elaborate explanation he had prepared. He had dug into Jim's situation thoroughly. Although Jim was unfortunately still alive, he was unconscious, and Jaime planned to use this to pressure Mirabella into going in Jim's place.

He didn't expect her to agree so easily, not following the usual back-and-forth.

"Can Keir actually make it tomorrow?" Jaime asked, clearly skeptical.

Mirabella raised an eyebrow, countering, "Did the Earl's estate say attendance was mandatory?"

Jaime was at a loss for words.

Seeing him stumped, Mirabella smirked, "Since it's not required, Keir can choose not to go." She made a point to call Chester by his first name, Keir.

"Absolutely not!" Jaime snapped.

He suddenly recalled Mirabella's

ul

simple upbringing-maybe she didn't grasp the importance of the Earl's estate or the weight behind the Earl's invitation. With this in mind, Jaime explained, "You probably aren't aware of what the Earl's estate stands for or how significant the Earl's invitation is. It's notnoveldrama

something you can just brush off."

Mirabella nodded casually, "Aren't you part of the Davis family too? Why not go yourself?"

"I..." Jaime began, but he faltered.

After a moment, he continued, "The

invitation is for Keir, not for a

secondary family member like me to stand in for the head of the family. Are you joking?"

Jaime chuckled dryly, struggling to keep his cool, and added, "I'll chalk up your comment to your age and lack of understanding. Don't go embarrassing the Davis family."

"Okay," Mirabella replied lazily, sipping her coffee.

Watching this, Jaime felt like he was trying to punch a pillow-soft and giving,

leaving no impact on her, only adding to his frustration.

He took a deep breath, trying to keep

his composure, and decided to be

direct: "Someone has to attend the Earl's birthday party tomorrow.. know Keir can't go, and such important events require the main family, not secondary members. Since everyone calls you Miss Mira, you need to step up. Right now, there's no one more suitable than you to represent the Davis family without breaking protocol."

Finally, he got to the heart of the matter.

Mirabella clicked her tongue lightly in thought, set down her coffee, and was about

to respond when a cold, firm voice cut in- "Who said there's no one else besides Mira?"
