The Heartbreak Prescription

Of course, Chelsea couldn’t let Warren know she was working with Gilbert. All these men in black were Gilbert’s people.

She quickly smiled and said, “I hired them myself. Paid for them out of pocket.”

“Hired them?” Warren looked doubtful.

Sensing his suspicion, Chelsea quickly changed the subject. “Don’t forget what we agreed on-we have to save Shaun. Today, we need to teach Ms. Mallin a real lesson!”

Warren nodded, and his doubts faded away.

Chelsea gave the order, “Take her away!”

A wave of dread surged through Halsey. She fought back with everything she had. “Let me go! What you’re doing is illegal! Warren, I know deep down you’re not a bad person. Don’t let Chelsea do this. Please! You need to know, I’m-”

Before she could finish, Chelsea gave a quick signal. One of the bodyguards clamped a hand over Halsey’s mouth.

She could only let out muffled cries and look desperately at Warren. “Mmm… mmm…!”

Warren frowned. “What’s she trying to say?”

Chelsea quickly cut in, “Don’t listen to her. She’s full of lies. That’s how she’s been twisting Shaun around her little finger!”

Warren nodded, brushing it off and not asking further.

Chelsea said again, firmly, “Take her away!”

The bodyguards forced Halsey out. She struggled the whole way, but they shoved her into a car and drove straight to the hospital.

“Chelsea! Let me go! What the hell do you want from me?” Halsey shouted.

Chelsea gave her a slow, cold smile. “You’ll find out soon enough.”

Soon, they arrived at the entrance to an operating room. And then, Halsey saw a familiar figure waiting for her-Gilbert.

She froze. “Gilbert? What are you doing here?”

Chelsea stepped over to stand beside him, and Gilbert gave a smug smile. “Take a wild guess.”

Looking between the two of them, it clicked instantly.

“You’re working together!” Halsey exclaimed, aghast.

Chelsea grinned. “This is what we call a power duo.”

Halsey’s voice trembled with fury. “Chelsea, you’re supposed to be Shaun’s friend! How could you team up with Gilbert?”

Chelsea sneered, “Shaun never should’ve fallen for you. That was his first mistake.”

Halsey’s tone turned icy. “Why did you bring me here?”

Gilbert stepped closer and reached for her face.

Halsey jerked away in disgust. “Don’t touch me!”

Gilbert wasn’t fazed. His hand slid down and rested on her stomach. “Why do you think I brought you to a hospital?”

Her pupils shrank. “Are you trying to get rid of my baby?”

He chuckled darkly. “That’s right. This cursed child has no place in the world. I’ll send it straight to hell!”

“No!” Halsey screamed, thrashing. “Don’t hurt my baby!”

“What are you waiting for? Strap her down! The doctor’s ready,” Chelsea snapped.

“Got it!”

The bodyguards dragged Halsey inside. She kicked and clawed, but it was no use. She was overpowered and pinned to the cold operating table.

“Let me go! Don’t do this! Please don’t hurt my baby!” noveldrama

Chelsea and Gilbert stood nearby. Gilbert barked at the doctor, “Inject the anesthesia. Now!”

Chelsea’s eyes gleamed with cruelty. “Make sure it’s done right. I want that baby gone!”

Halsey’s arms and legs were bound. The surgical table beneath her was freezing cold. Harsh, blinding lights burned above her. Terror spread through every inch of her as she desperately prayed that they wouldn’t hurt her baby.
