The Heartbreak Prescription

Halsey shot the man a cold look. “Get lost!”

She was about to walk away when another drunken rich guy jumped out.

“I’ll offer three million if you dance for me!” noveldrama

Halsey sneered, “I’ll give you five million to disappear from my sight immediately.”

She was an heiress herself; she wasn’t short of cash.

Without waiting, Halsey turned and started walking.

“Wait, don’t go!” One of the rich kids reached out to grab her.

Halsey dodged just in time, but twisted her ankle and lost her balance, staggering forward.

“Ah!”

She gasped, instinctively putting her hands over her belly.

But the pain she feared didn’t come-because she had fallen into a warm, broad chest, held firmly in strong arms. As she looked up, Shaun’s handsome, noble face filled her view.

Shaun was here.

Halsey blinked, surprised. “What are you doing here?”

Shaun held her gently at the waist. “You should be thankful I came, or else…”

He looked up sharply, his cold, piercing gaze locking onto the two drunk rich guys.

“Hey, who do you think you are? Get in line. We found her first-you gotta wait your turn!”

Neither of the two recognized Shaun.

Still holding Halsey tightly, Shaun’s indifferent eyes swept over them. “Who do you think you are? You really think my woman’s something you can just fantasize about?”

Halsey froze. He actually said she was his woman.

But hadn’t they already broken up?

Her heart skipped a beat.

The two rich kids only had eyes for Halsey now, blinded by greed. They raised their fists and charged at Shaun.

“You wanna take my woman? Over my dead body!”

Halsey’s heart raced. “Watch out!”

Shaun pulled Halsey closer, and with a strong grip, twisted one attacker’s wrist. Then, with a sharp kick, he knocked the other straight in the lower body, dropping both cleanly.

The two roared at their bodyguards, “Get over here! Take this guy down, and I’ll reward you!”

They had brought their men. Now that Shaun had knocked them down, they called for backup. A bunch of bodyguards rushed over, grabbing bottles from the table and charging at Shaun..

Halsey’s eyes widened in alarm. She grabbed Shaun’s sleeve with both hands, looking innocent but worried. “Look at the mess

you got yourself into!”

She only came out for a quick restroom break, and didn’t expect this chaos.

Shaun looked at her silently.

He dragged her aside, his brows furrowed, eyes filled with a deadly hunger. “Stay right here. Don’t move.”

Halsey, holding her belly, nodded quickly. “Don’t worry. I won’t move.”

The bodyguards rushed in, and Shaun moved with incredible agility, fighting them off.

Halsey watched him battle.

This wasn’t the first time she had seen him fight. His strikes were ruthless, each punch landing solidly, forcing the bodyguards to fall back step by step, unable to keep up.
