The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus)

Chapter 681 Pregnancy

After Natalie and Marcus ended the call with Laura, they continued strolling along the street.

Every day, Charlotte would send her messages, reminding her to eat well and have fun. Her brothers would also send messages in the group chat, as well as some money to let her spend.

Despite her busy schedule, Natalie always responded to her family's messages promptly.

Upon their return, she planned to visit the Walker residence more often. She had already mentioned it to Marcus, who fully supported her decision.

His only request was simple-if she wanted to stay over at the Walker residence, she had to take him with her. Natalie couldn't help but laugh, reaching out to hug him tightly.

After their hug, Marcus finally felt at ease. Ever since they had confirmed their feelings, Marcus had been dealing with lingering insecurity.

Natalie found it a little odd. She didn't quite understand why Marcus would feel

that way.

"Marcus, setting me aside for a moment, are there any places you would like to go to?" As they continued their stroll, Natalie suddenly looked over and asked, "Before meeting me, was there anywhere you especially loved or always wanted to visit?"

Marcus thought about it for a while, then shook his head. "Before I met you, everything in my life was already mapped out. Every day, I follow a schedule. Other than that, I spent most of my time with Grandpa."

The moment he mentioned Charles, Marcus' expression dimmed. If Charles were still around, he would've been the happiest and most content man alive.

Natalie held his hand. "If Grandpa could see how happy we are, he'd be smiling for sure."

"Yes." Marcus held her hand tightly. "Nat, thank you for staying by my side. If it weren't for you, I don't know if I ever would've made it through. I still think of Grandpa all the time. I dream of him often when I sleep at night."

As Marcus spoke, his eyes reddened. He turned his head, not wanting Natalie to see his vulnerable side.

"Marcus, let me feel your pulse!" Natalie suggested, trying to cheer him up.

She placed her fingers gently against his wrist and put on a serious face. After a while, she broke into a smile. "Congratulations! You're going to be a dad!"

"Huh?" Marcus was confused. "Nat, I'm a man. I can't get pregnant."

Natalie kept smiling. "That's right. I said you're going to be a dad, not that you're the one who's pregnant!"

"Huh?" Marcus froze. He stared at her blankly as his brain struggled to process what was going on.

Seeing his dumbfounded look, Natalie couldn't hold back anymore. She giggled and then lifted her own hand. Then, she said slowly, "I'm pregnant. You're going to be a father."

"Really?" Marcus finally returned to his senses. He pulled Natalie into his arms, his voice choked with emotion. "Nat, are you really pregnant?"

"Yes, I really am." Natalie wrapped her arms around him, hugging him back. "I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but I'm certain I'm pregnant."

Her voice softened. "I wasn't planning on telling you so soon, but when I saw how down you were, I thought maybe this would cheer you up.

"Marcus, are you happy?" Natalie's expression was gentle, and her voice was soft. When she saw his red-rimmed eyes, her heart softened.

This man, she thought, was completely different from the one she first met.

"I'm happy," Marcus choked out. He hugged her tightly. "Nat, I'm beyond happy. Promise me, okay? From now on, no more fighting, and no more risky stuff. Please?"

The scenes of Natalie fighting the people at Ashford Vale not too long ago terrified him.noveldrama

"Okay, I promise," she replied softly. "I'll take care of myself. I knew you'd be worried if I told you."

"But you can't hide things from me just to avoid worrying me," Marcus said, holding her tightly. "Let's not go dig up herbs anymore. If you want them, I'll have someone bring them tous. Nat, please."

When Natalie saw his pleading expression, she couldn't help but laugh. She pinched his cheek. "Okay, let's not go."

"Let's go home now!" Marcus couldn't wait any longer. The motel was terrible, and the food was bad. If he didn't know Natalie was pregnant, he would've stayed there with her.

But now that she was pregnant, he wouldn't allow her to endure such hardships.

"Do we need to go so soon?" Natalie asked.

"Yes. I'll have Father send a helicopter."

Marcus took out his phone and was about to make a call when she stopped him. "It's the middle of the night Let's not do that. Let's stick to the plan and rest here tonight. We'll leave tomorrow."

"Let's switch to another motel then," Marcus replied.

"The motel took you to is the best in this area," Natalie said helplessly. "Although I'm doing charity work, I

ver

won't let myself suffer unnecessarily. Let's go back and rest now."

"Alright." Marcus walked in front of Natalie and then crouched down. "Nat, come on, I'll carry you."

Natalie couldn't help but laugh. "There's no need. I can still walk."

"I know. I just want to carry my wife." Marcus' tone was gentle but firm. "I would

like to carry the love of my life. Ms. Natalie, will you grant me my wish?"

With a smile, Natalie climbed onto his back. "Of course, I will."

Marcus lifted her steadily, and they turned back the way they came.

Natalie rested on his back. The streetlights in this county weren't very bright, but they still cast long shadows of the two of them.

Marcus had a V-shaped physique that made him look lean when he was clothed. But when he took them off, he had a strong, muscular body.

His back muscles were well-defined and powerful, so Natalie felt perfectly comfortable when he carried her.

"Marcus, do you want a boy or a girl?" Natalie asked, her voice filled with anticipation. "What about names? Have you thought about what to call the baby?" Marcus paused mid-step. He had just learned this wonderful news and was still processing it. When he heard Natalie's question, he was unsure how to respond. After a while, he resumed walking with Natalie on his back. "Nat, do you prefer a boy or a girl?"

She thought for a moment and said, "I'd be happy with either. But it would be nice to have a boy and a girl, a set of twins."

"Yes, me too." Marcus smiled. He added softly, "I'd love either, but if it's twins, you'll have a much harder time with the pregnancy."

He hadn't experienced it himself, but he had seen videos of mothers carrying twins having a much more challenging time than those carrying one baby.

The risks were higher, too.
