Chapter 683 Natalie More Precious Than a National Treasure
The next morning, Natalie woke up early. The moment she opened her eyes, she saw Marcus staring right at her.
"Good morning. How long have you been awake?" She rubbed her eyes and greeted him.
"Not that long." Marcus didn't tell her the truth. In reality, he had been so excited that he couldn't fall asleep for a long while last night. When he finally drifted off, he woke up again at the crack of dawn.
Since waking up, he'd just been watching her. The longer he looked, the more beautiful he thought his wife was, and his love for her surged like a tidal wave.
The corners of Natalie's lips curled up. "Let's get up. After having breakfast with Lynette and the others, we'll go our separate ways."
"Okay." Marcus sat up and reached out to pull Natalie into his arms. "Nat, once we get back to Dithoria, where do you want to live?" he asked.
Natalie felt strange. "Why are you asking me that?"
"I just want to prioritize your preferences," Marcus said with a smile. "Wherever you want to live, I'll follow. Nat, you're pregnant. It's important to keep you happy and relaxed."
"I know that." Natalie chuckled. "I'm a doctor, remember? I know what to do. Marcus, you don't have to be this nervous."
She reached out her hand, and Marcus immediately leaned his head toward it. She gently ruffled his hair, then couldn't resist leaning in to kiss him on the lips.
The occasional contrast in Marcus' personality made him absolutely irresistible to her.
"Let's wash up and head home," he said while holding her hand. He then planted a kiss on her forehead.
"Alright."
"Nat, I've made new arrangements for the ride back. Elijah won't be coming with
us."
"Alright," Natalie replied with a smile. She didn't ask Marcus when he had done so. She just went along with his plans.
She rubbed her lower belly, and it felt surreal. There was already a tiny life growing inside her.
She never imagined she'd get married and become a mother so soon. But now that the day had come, she was able to accept it with ease. She was even feeling quite happy about it.
After the two washed up, they went downstairs to check out. Outside the motel, a luxury RV was already waiting for them.
Mason and Timothy stepped down from the RV, both of them smiling and holding food in their hands. They immediately walked over and stuffed them into Natalie's hands.
"Nat, eat up."
"Timothy, Mason, when did you get here?" Natalie was surprised. She knew exactly how far it was from Dithoria to the county.
"We just arrived," Timothy said, patting Natalie's head. "Want to eat in the car? We have more food prepared inside. Marcus, there's plenty for you too."
Timothy glanced at Marcus, then frowned slightly. "This is supposed to be your honeymoon. Why did you bring her to a place like this?"
"Timothy, here's the situation." Natalie pulled Timothy over. "It's not Marcus' fault. I asked to come here. I'll explain everything in detail inside the car."
While Natalie pulled Timothy into the RV, Mason frowned as well. "Marcus, not that I'm complaining, but how could you bring Natalie to a place like this for your honeymoon? And now, she even has to speak up for you. This is too much."
Marcus remained silent, simply following Mason into the car.
Once inside, they could see a variety of breakfast dishes laid out on the small table. There was even steaming hot milk.
Timothy asked Natalie to sit on the bed, then moved the small table in front of her, urging her to eat.
"Nat, eat up."
"Thank you, Timothy."
Natalie was indeed a little hungry. She picked up a fork and speared a meatball, putting it into her mouth.
"I asked Marcus to accompany me here," she began. "We went to a Coalmarsh, where I sponsored a few female students. Samuel and Zachary came with us too.
"I wanted to do something meaningful, and I wanted Marcus to be involved. That's why I planned a honeymoon that's different from the norm, which led us to this place."
Natalie continued eating while explaining to Timothy. "Timothy, please don't blame Marcus. I forced him to come here."
"Nat didn't force me. I wanted to come," Marcus said as he sat down opposite him. "Timothy, if you must blame someone, blame me. It's my fault. I didn't know Nat was doing these meaningful things beforehand."
"I wasn't blaming you." Timothy's tone softened a little. "It's just that Nat is now pregnant. As her husband, you should be extra careful and attentive from now on.
I didn't mean to sound like I was blaming you, Marcus."
"Thank you, Timothy. I understand now." Marcus' attitude toward Natalie's brothers had changed drastically. He was far gentler and more respectful than before.
Back when Emma was his fiancée, even though the Holdens and the Walkers had a good relationship, he had always been distant and aloof with them.
Now, seeing him talk so freely, Timothy found it surprising.
"You should eat too," he said, motioning at Marcus. "Nat, Mother and Father sent us here to bring you home. Once you get back, Mother should've arranged a full care team for your pregnancy.
"You don't have to worry about the postpartum care, maternity nurse, and nutritionist. As for the Holdens, Mother has already reached an agreement with Mr. Wesley and Ms. Laura. They didn't fight over this with her."
Timothy smiled. "From now on, you'll be even more precious than a national treasure. The four of us are already discussing what kind of gifts to prepare for our little nephew or niece Nat, if there's anything you want, just tell us."
He turned to Marcus and continued, "As for the Holdens, what gifts are you guys
planning to prepare for the baby?"
As the child's father, there was no
doubt Marcus would spare no effort in that matter. At the mention of the baby, his entire demeanor softened. A gentle smile appeared on his face. It was impossible for him to bide his happiness.
"I'll give Nat and the baby everything I have," he replied and stared at Natalie. "Whatever I own, I'll give it to them."
Timothy found this answer satisfactory and nodded. "Good. Eat up! After you're done, stay with Natalie. We're heading back to Dithoria."
"Alright. Thank you, Timothy."
Timothy called Mason over, and both of them stepped out of the RV. Just then, they saw Elijah walking over with three girls and immediately approached.
"Elijah."
"Hello, Mr. Timothy, Mr. Mason," Elijah quickly greeted them. "What brings you here?"
Timothy's gaze fell on Lynette, Sue, and Ann. "What's going on here?"
"They're students sponsored by Mrs.noveldrama
Natalie," Elijah replied honestly.
"They came from a really remote and poor place but managed to get into high school. Mrs. Natalie brought them out so they could continue their studies. I'll be taking them to school now to help them complete the admission process."
Timothy asked calmly, "What are their names? How long has Natalie been supporting them? And what kind of place did they come from?"
"Uh..." Elijah paused for a moment to think. "Mr. Timothy, how about we find a place to sit down and talk properly? I'll explain everything in detail."
What do you think?
