Oh Lost 503
Chapter 503 A Dangerous Bargain
White’s face darkened instantly. Gone was his previous leisure–his expression twisted into something sharp and venomous.
“I never should’ve gone easy on you,” he spat.
He should’ve killed Jonathan when he had the chance.
In the end, it was his own greed that had undone him.
Their current research was all built on Jonathan’s original models. Each new generation of tech might have looked different, but the core remained unchanged. He had wanted to go further, reach new heights -but the idiots under him were incapable of delivering.
He couldn’t understand how Jonathan’s brain worked–how someone could outclass so many others so thoroughly.
That was why he had turned to neural expansion–researching the development of the brain. And even then, none of his people could match Jonathan.
Watching White’s mood shift with interest, Jonathan smiled calmly. “Your father’s on his way. Got anything you want me to tell him?”
White’s expression turned even colder.
He glared at Jonathan. “You really are courting death.”
He had never wanted his father and Jonathan to meet. Though he had run background checks on Jonathan countless times and found nothing suspicious, he still felt uneasy.
He couldn’t explain why. Maybe it was the way Jonathan carried himself–that sharp, commanding aura so identical to his father’s.
At first, Jonathan hadn’t had that presence. But over time, he began to mimic it.
Because in the end, he was nothing more than a stand–in. It was only thanks to his face that his father even acknowledged him.
He had a bad feeling: once his father met Jonathan, he would absolutely admire him. He knew his father’s tastes better than anyone.
Strong. Capable. Fierce. Smart. A fast learner.
On the surface, people always said he and Jonathan were alike in how quickly they learned. But no one knew the brutal cost of his success.
He always acted nonchalant, but behind the scenes, he poured in endless time, money, and sleepless nights.
No one saw that side of him. And all of it had been to earn his father’s approval.
And he had succeeded–he was no longer on the fringes, but a core member of the family. noveldrama
Yet deep down, he had never stopped feeling uneasy. Because no matter what, a fake was still a fake.
If his father ever realized how extraordinary Jonathan was, he would definitely take notice.
The only comfort was that there was no blood relation between them.
At that thought, he gave a twisted smile. “Jonathan, you’re going to die.”
He knew his father well. A man who could tolerate an exceptional child—but never a threat to his own
power.
Jonathan was a threat. His father would eliminate him.
Jonathan raised an eyebrow, indifferent. “I’ll be waiting. But is that really all you called me here to say?”
Seeing Jonathan’s calm demeanor, White took a deep breath and forced himself to settle down. Finally, he got to the real point.
“Jonathan, let me go. We’ll stay out of each other’s way.”
He went on, “I’ll even make it worth your while–compensate you and the Wynn family. You should know I don’t make small offers.”
He added, “Your family’s influence abroad doesn’t compare to the Victor family’s. I can help you get what you want. What do you think? Tempted?”
Jonathan tapped the face of his watch and said, “I have to admit, that’s a generous offer. You’re much more straightforward than your father–definitely more sincere. It’s tempting.”
He smiled. “But only tempting. It’s not enough to move me.”
White clenched his teeth. “I’ll throw in the chip technology. You may not work in that field, but I’m sure you understand the potential profits.”
He narrowed his eyes. “Is that enough?”
Jonathan didn’t react–but the people eavesdropping certainly did.
They had long heard whispers that White had developed a chip capable of influencing emotions and expanding brain function.
It was the kind of thing that could make anyone’s mouth water.
That was why White hadn’t been dealt with yet–they’d been hoping to pry the secret from him.
They hadn’t expected him to offer it up so easily–especially not to Jonathan.
“You shouldn’t be discussing this with me,” Jonathan said flatly, his gaze frosty.
White chuckled. “We may be enemies, but I can accept losing to you. That’s why you’re the only one I’d
offer this to.”
He leaned forward. “Take your time. Think it over. There’s no rush.”

White stared at Jonathan with quiet confidence.
He was sure–Jonathan would accept.
What do you think?
