The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 491 Panic

Outside the hotel where Freya previously stayed in Pontenero, many luxury cars were parked, making the hotel's guests think someone important was staying there.

This hotel, one of the highly-rated establishments in Pontenero, often accommodated significant figures from Porejimo, but it was more commonly frequented by celebrities, athletes, and business moguls.

Nathaniel, whose wound had not yet healed, recklessly unleashed his fury and ended up back in the hospital.

Still, he couldn't rest. He flew to Pontenero, dragging his collapsing body just to confront his wife.

On the plane, Koen and Ozzy had secretly mentioned that Madam wanted a divorce, and the divorce agreement had already been delivered to the CEO, forcing him to sign. Ozzy finally understood why Mr. Morgan had gone mad. Freya was also a certified lunatic, cunning enough to orchestrate scenarios that pushed the CEO towards self-destruction.

Those around Nathaniel believed that Freya, after her release from prison and return to Nathaniel, had ulterior motives, perhaps even wishing him dead.

Koen and Ozzy cautiously supported Nathaniel, who should have been resting in a hospital bed instead of traveling thousands of miles to Pontenero.

Each step he took caused excruciating pain, and he was already drenched in cold sweat before reaching the hotel's steps.

Unable to bear the pain, Ozzy suggested quietly, "Mr. Morgan, how about we get a wheelchair for you..."

“Shut up!” Nathaniel didn't want to lose his imposing demeanor in front of Freya.

He intended to walk up to her step by step to see what she would say.

If she didn't explain herself, he would simply bind her and lock her up.

He meant it. He had given her too much freedom, and she had forgotten who she

was.

She dared to treat him this way and had to be prepared to pay the price.

With each step, his anger grew, mixed with a tinge of resentment.

By the time he reached Freya's room, his fury had peaked. He stood outside the door, taking a deep breath and wincing from the pain of his wound.

His condition could not tolerate extreme emotions, and the more turbulent his mood, the more he struggled to breathe.noveldrama

Ozzy supported him, whispering, "Mr. Morgan, I must remind you, if you die here,

it won't be a divorce but a widowhood. All your assets would go to Madam."

Koen glared at Ozzy, thinking he was only making things worse. Surprisingly, Ozzy's words worked, and Nathaniel's emotions stabilized. He knocked on Freya's door, but there was no answer.

Frowning deeply, Nathaniel recalled that Koen and Mandy had confirmed Freya

had extended her stay until the next month.

She couldn't possibly not be inside. Koen called Freya, only to find his number blocked.

Nathaniel took a deep breath, suppressing his pain and raising his voice, "Freya, if you're inside, open the door. We need to talk about our issues. Divorce is not an option.

Open the door, and let's talk!"

Despite his controlled tone, there was no response. Calls went unanswered, and messages on social media were ignored.

Nathaniel glanced at Koen, who reluctantly began picking the lock, a skill he had picked up during his rough days.

Though it felt embarrassing, it came in handy now, especially with some remote assistance from a hacker.

The door opened, but Freya was nowhere to be found. Nathaniel stood in the room, momentarily at a loss. She wasn't here, and he had no idea where she had gone.

The sight of the unmade bed hit him hard. They had recently been together there, awkward due to Sawyer's situation, yet her deliberate efforts had enthralled him.

Now, the bed remained unmade, with a "Do Not Disturb❞ sign on the door and half-drunk coffee and a partly eaten French pastry on the table.

Koen suggested, "It seems Madam went out. Let's wait. She might return soon."

Nathaniel couldn't stand any longer and sat on the sofa. The room still carried traces of Freya, and just being there calmed him somewhat.

He instinctively reached for her coffee cup, noticing the lipstick stain, indicating she had already prepared herself for the day.

Freya was extremely disciplined, never wasting time or food. The unfinished coffee and pastry suggested she had abruptly left due to an urgent matter.

Alarmed, Nathaniel stood, despite the pain, and headed to the bedroom.

"Mr. Morgan?" Ozzy, noticing his pale face, followed him but was shouted out by Nathaniel. This was Madam's private space, and Koen and Ozzy dared not intrude.

Nathaniel, supporting himself

against the wall, entered the

bedroom and found a laptop under

the covers, still on. If Freya had left

for work, she would have taken the laptop or at least shut it down. swnovel

This meant she was in serious trouble.

Nathaniel stumbled back to the living room, panic evident on his face.
