Chapter 39
Evelyn paused slightly upon hearing the words "Mr. Grant's girlfriend".
So, Lucas was more than willing to acknowledge his relationship with Tiffany within the company.
He openly declared his love, granted Tiffany unrestricted access within the company, and ensured she felt completely secure and recognized.
In Lucas' eyes, only Tiffany was worthy of such treatment.
Justine scoffed. "Girlfriend? So, she's not actually an employee of TechNova Group?"
Tiffany smiled. "Lucas granted me special permission to study on-site operations at TechNova Group. I'm not an official employee, but I'll be assisting in project evaluations."
In other words, Tiffany could also voice her opinion during this discussion about manufacturing materials?
Evelyn frowned slightly.
Lucas had given Tiffany so many privileges.
She wasn't an employee, yet she could freely enter restricted sample rooms, review manufacturing details and 3D model prints, and even participate in key production projects?
Jacob stepped in. "Rest assured, Ms. Moore is highly capable. Mr. Grant has authorized her full access to all the project details. If any issues arise, he will take full responsibility."
Justine bristled with anger. She was furious for Evelyn's sake. She felt that it was utterly unjust for her friend.
They were still in the process of finalizing their divorce; it wasn't even official yet! Yet Lucas was already grooming his mistress for legitimacy? The audacity!
Evelyn kept quiet.
She was merely reflecting on her relationship with Lucas. She had once thought that Lucas was cold and distant, strictly adhering to rules and regulations. That was why he never allowed her to overstep the boundaries.
He had never let her visit his office.noveldrama
Never allowed her to greet him publicly at the company.
Never permitted her to reveal even the slightest information about her husband.
Never involved her in any projects at Grant Group.
She realized now that it was never about company rules. But rather, it was because she simply wasn't worthy of any special privileges.
Even if she revealed her identity as Mrs. Grant, she still didn't hold as much weight as the woman Lucas favored-Tiffany.
"If we're going to discuss component details, Ms. Scott may need to wait a moment. I need to inspect the progress in the sample room first. Mr. Jenkins will entertain you in the meantime." Tiffany nodded gracefully, casting a knowing glance at Jacob.
Jacob immediately smiled. "How about I take you both to see the 3D design drawings first?"
Evelyn could tell that Jacob was clearly obedient to Tiffany, even though he was clearly the highest-ranking person in charge there.
Yet, Tiffany carried herself with the air of a rightful mistress. She used words like "inspect" and instructed Jacob to entertain them, as if she were the lady of the house.
Even when facing Evelyn, she was completely unfazed. It was the confidence that came from being loved.
Justine couldn't hold it in any longer. She was about to explode! How dare Tiffany act so high and mighty in front of the real Mrs. Grant?
"I'm a shareholder of Flying Seal Group," Justine said with a half-smile, her words cutting through like a blade. "Since Ms. Moore isn't officially employed at TechNova Group, you don't have the authority to make us wait. I need to speak with someone of equal status. What's your position, Ms. Moore? Are you qualified to have this discussion with me?"
Lucas had indeed given her special privileges, but Tiffany was still not a member of the management team.
Tiffany looked at Justine, and her expression remained stoic.
She was just surprised. Justine was, after all, a member of Flying Seal Group's management team. Couldn't she focus on business matters?
Yet, she was so easily swayed by Evelyn's words, letting her emotions cloud her judgment.
With this kind of leadership, it was no wonder Flying Seal Group struggled to thrive.
Besides, it seemed that Evelyn had a habit of manipulating others and tarnishing her reputation. Otherwise, why would both Sebastian and Justine hold such deep prejudice against her?
Tiffany cast a brief glance at Evelyn before responding, "Ms. Scott, I hope we can keep things professional. If you have any personal grievances, I can arrange for Mr. Jenkins to speak with you instead. After all, isn't our main priority collaboration?"
Justine sneered. Was Tiffany trying to act magnanimous?
Jacob, caught in the middle, felt increasingly uneasy.
He couldn't understand why the atmosphere had suddenly shifted. But regardless,
Tiffany was Lucas' girlfriend, so he had to show her due respect.
Evelyn stopped Justine from lashing out. Instead, she said calmly, "Mr. Jenkins, let's discuss the next steps."
Jacob visibly let out a sigh of relief. His gaze toward Evelyn carried a hint of gratitude. Thankfully, she had defused the situation. Otherwise, he wouldn't have known which side to stand on.
Tiffany didn't seem to mind Justine's attitude. With an air of pompousness, she simply said, "I'll let you all carry on."
Then, she turned around and left. Graceful and unrestrained.
Justine scoffed. "So pretentious!"
Evelyn turned to Jacob. "Let's check the sample room."
At that moment, Jacob viewed Evelyn with newfound respect. Compared to Justine, she was clearly the more composed and intelligent one.
He quickly explained, "Perhaps you're misunderstanding the situation. You might think Ms. Moore lacks authority and is here to placate you two. However, that's not the case. Mr. Grant holds Ms. Moore in very high regard. The two of them have a very good relationship, and I think it's only a matter of time before they get married."
He continued, "So, believe me, there was no disrespect intended. When Ms. Moore speaks with you, think of it as if the future Mrs. Grant is personally discussing things with you."
What do you think?
