Chapter 622
Noelle knew Hendrix all too well. So the moment she saw the doctor, she knew exactly what he was planning to do. She immediately took a few steps back.
By then, Hendrix had already stepped forward. Noelle's pupils widened slightly, and without a second thought, she tried to push past him to rush outside.
But she couldn't even break free from Hendrix's grip, let alone with so many people around. Thus, she was quickly pinned down on the bed, and the doctor prepared to inject her with a sedative.
"Let me go! Hendrix, let me go! What does it matter to you what I do? Let go of me!" Noelle began to struggle fiercely, her voice sharp as if it could pierce through anything.
But their movements didn't falter, and the doctor plunged the needle into her arm without any hesitation.
"You bastard! Hendrix Freeman, you are a total bastard! I need to find Rosie. I just want to find my daughter-what right do you have to stop me? I hate you! I hate you!"
Tears streamed down Noelle's face, but her voice grew weaker, along with her struggling.
Everyone else had already let go, except for Hendrix, who was still holding her down. His expression didn't change at all when he heard her say "I hate you".
He even replied, "It's fine. Just hate me, then. As long as you're alive, that's all that matters to me."
Alive? How could she stay alive? If something really happened to Rosie, how could she face living in this world?noveldrama
It was all because of her negligence. Everything was her fault. All she wanted now was to find her. Why wouldn't they let her go? Why was everyone stopping her?
Noelle wanted to say more, but her limbs were slowly losing strength, and her mind was growing foggy. Finally, she was swallowed whole by an endless darkness.
This time, she didn't dream. Her eyes remained closed, but Noelle felt her consciousness was clearer than ever.
She knew where she was and what happened to her. But she felt as if her eyes were weighed down by a thousand pounds, making it impossible to open them.
She wanted to call out Rosie's name. She wanted to find Seline. But she couldn't make a sound—she couldn't do anything at all.
In her daze, she thought she heard Rosie's voice.
Rosie was talking to her. "Mommy, this place is so fun! Mommy, I'm leaving with Seline now. You take care, okay?"
Leaving? Where were they going?
Noelle wanted to ask, but no sound came out. Then, she suddenly remembered something.
She remembered having a similar dream when she lost her first child. Back then, he had also come to say goodbye. So, was Rosie doing the same thing now?
No! Noelle absolutely would not let her do that!
"Don't go, Rosie! Don't leave Mommy alone!" Noelle screamed hysterically, and her eyes snapped open at that moment.
The room was still lit only by a dim yellow light. Hendrix sat beside her, his hand tightly gripping hers.
Noelle's face was drenched in tears, and even her pillow was soaked. But she didn't care about any of that. Without thinking, she shook off Hendrix's hand and tried to get up to rush outside.
Hendrix moved to stop her, but Noelle slapped him across the face. "Get out of my way! I'm damn sick of you, Hendrix! Why are you stopping me? I just want to see Rosie Why won't you let me see her?"
What do you think?
