The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 629

As he spoke, Hendrix walked to the other side. He first poured her a glass of water, then handed her a thermometer.

Noelle didn't take it. "Where's Rosie?"

"I sent her to my mother's place."

Noelle frowned slightly in dissatisfaction but said nothing. Instead, she simply got up to leave.

Hendrix stopped her. "You're sick and in no condition to take care of Rosie right now. Besides, don't you trust my mother?"

"I'm fine now," Noelle insisted. "My fever's gone, and I can take care of Rosie." "Why don't you take a look in the mirror to see what state you're in right now?" "That's none of your business!" Noelle shouted impatiently as she tried to push Hendrix away.

But then, he asked out of the blue, "Did you dream about Seline just now?"

Noelle immediately froze the moment Seline's name came out of Hendrix's mouth. Then, she slowly turned to look at him.

Hendrix was staring straight at her. "Do you remember what happened on the day of her funeral?"

"What... What funeral?" Noelle asked. "Whose funeral? I don't know what you're talking about!"

"You know damn well I'm talking about Seline's funeral!" Hendrix said outright, not giving her the chance to dodge the subject. "Did you forget what happened that day?"

"I didn't forget," Noelle said through gritted teeth. What are you trying to say? That Mrs. Swift kicked us out? That she called me a jinx? I know I'm a jinx. Everyone who gets close to me who's kind to me-ends up with misfortune! Some even died!

"Yet, I actually felt relieved-relieved that the one who survived was Rosie! That's

how selfish I am! Is that enough for you?"

Noelle's voice was sharp, her eyes wide and bloodshot.

Hendrix looked at her and said, "That's not all. Think again."

Noelle was stunned. Then, she looked at Hendrix in disbelief, as if she didn't understand what he meant.

There was more? What else? What else did she do that day? Why couldn't she remember anything?

Hendrix held her gaze for a moment before saying, "Forget it. Don't force yourself

if you can't remember. Just rest for now. As for Rosie-"

"I remember it now," Noelle suddenly said.

Hendrix immediately fell silent.noveldrama

"I was dragging Rosie..." Noelle began in a trembling voice. "I dragged her and said I wanted to

take her to die and pay for Seline't

life, didn't I? Is that what happened? So, it wasn't your mother who took Rosie away. It was because Rosie didn't want to see me anymore, right?"

Noelle lifted her head, tears streaming down her face.

"Why? Why did I... Why did I do that? Rosie had just survived! I wanted her to live more than anyone else! How

could... How could I do something like that? What else did I do?

Q.UMS

Noelle tried to recall more, but her head felt like it was about to split open. She

covered her head with her hands and started pulling at her hair.

"I don't remember anything. Hendrix, what else did I do? Why can't I remember anything?"
