too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian)

Chapter 575

Amelia glanced at the two of them, smiling casually. If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she wouldn't have believed that a man as composed and exceptional as Kieran could get jealous.

The three of them headed to the restaurant. As soon as they entered the private dining room, the lively atmosphere hit them.

Lila went through another round of reintroductions. Although she couldn't recall the names, everyone felt familiar to her.

Especially when her body reacted instinctively-she reached out and touched Jamie's face.

Jamie froze for a moment before grabbing Lila's hand and rubbing her cheek against it, like a younger sister seeking comfort from her older sister. It was such an endearing sight, it made people's hearts soften.

"Lila, it's such a relief that you're okay! Hurry and sit down to eat."

Teddy watched them with a genuine, cheerful smile. But when he caught sight of the small charm hanging from Jamie's bag, his smile slowly faded.

It looked just like the one Soren had on his backpack.

The same structure from their high school biology textbook-the cloverleaf- shaped transfer RNA.

Transfer... huh.

He let out a quiet sigh in his heart.

After their lively meal, considering Lila's condition, no one suggested going

anywhere else. Instead, they all prepared to head home.

As they stepped out of the restaurant, they realized it was raining.

At the entrance, Soren stood holding a black umbrella. He was dressed in a well- fitted suit, exuding elegance and poise.noveldrama

He said in a gentle tone, "Jamie."

Jamie was clearly surprised to see him-she hadn't told him when the gathering would end.

Noticing her confusion, Soren smiled indifferently. "I've been waiting outside for a while. It's dark and raining. It wouldn't be safe for you to go back alone."

Amelia glanced at Teddy and gave him a small push, but he remained silent.

Jamie's gaze flickered toward him briefly before she turned back to Soren and gave a slight nod.

Then, she turned to the group. "I'll head home first. You all take care on the way back."

Everyone waved goodbye, gradually dispersing.

In the end, only Amelia, Teddy, Lila, and Kieran remained.

Amelia chuckled. "I'll drive you all home. First, I'll drop you off at Hilltop Heights, then take Teddy-it's more or less on the way."

Lila glanced outside at the light rain and, after a moment of thought, didn't refuse.

When they arrived at Hilltop Heights, Lila got out to say goodbye before Kieran took her hand and led her inside.

The moment they stepped in, Nova

came

Lila'sing over, rubbing against

Lila's legs. Compared to when she first arrived at Hilltop Heights, she had gained quite a few pounds.

Lila bent down and scooped her up. "Nova, did you miss me?"

As soon as she said it, she froze, then lifted her gaze to Kieran. "Is her name Nova?"

Kieran let out a low chuckle, his eyes narrowing slightly in dissatisfaction as he pinched her cheek.

He didn't say a word, but his meaning was clear-she didn't remember his name, yet she still remembered the little cat.

"Go take a shower. Rest early tonight. We're going to the hospital for a check-up tomorrow."

Kiera ed out to take Nova, but further into Lila's are ey

Seeing her raised brow, Lila laughed and gently placed Nova back into her small

bed on the cat tower.

"Go wash up and get some rest."

Everyone had been exhausted.

Once they were both settled in bed, Lila took the initiative to wrap her arms around Kieran's waist.

He smelled of jasmine-scented body wash-the exact same scent as hers.

Feeling her movement, Kieran's

body tensed slightly, a spark of heat flickering within him. But his

rationality held firm-she was still

recovering from her injuries.

He could sense it-because of the gaps in her memory, Lila's sense of security

had weakened significantly.

These past few days, she had been unconsciously seeking comfort in his presence.
