When Her "Death" Couldn't Break Him

Chapter 2006 Added To The Group Chat

Eloise had no idea what Cecilia was planning. When she got home, she shared what she believed was good news with Tristian and Rebecca.

Tristian finally seemed relieved. "You should work on building a good relationship with Cecilia. She's not who she used to be. From now on, both our families might have to rely on her."

Eloise had figured that out already. She was jealous of Cecilia, but if Cecilia was in a position to help them, why not take advantage of it?

"All right, I get it," she said.

After cleaning up and getting some rest, Eloise lay in bed and added Cecilia. She even added Cecilia to the Escobar family's WhatsApp group.

Since the group was set to auto-approve, no confirmation was needed from Cecilia.

Once she pulled her in, Eloise addressed everyone in the chat: This is Ceci. I just got her contact info today. I've added her because our family isn't complete

without everyone.

By then, Cecilia had already gone to bed and had no idea she'd been added. When people saw Cecilia's name appear, their attitude shifted immediately.

Someone texted: Welcome!

Another wrote: Finally, Ceci's back with the family!

Someone else texted: Ceci's our niece. Same blood runs through her veins!

One after another, relatives chimed in, all eager to shower her with compliments and mention her family ties.

Plenty of them knew how to play the game.

Even the daughters of her uncle texted: Ceci, we miss you. Please accept our friend requests.

Now, everyone suddenly remembered to add her.

As long as they had her in the group, they figured they could ask for favors whenever they needed.

The next morning, when Cecilia turned on her phone, she found over ninety-nine unread messages. With a puzzled look, she opened the app and frowned.

That Eloise really is something! Still, the Escobars are kind of amusing.

For all those years, aside from Paula, Cecilia had no connection with anyone in the family. It wasn't that she avoided them. They just never wanted anything to do with her.

Now that she had become the heir of the Jamieson Group, and it was clear she

had no legal ties with the Escobars, they suddenly decided she was family.

So in the end, it wasn't blood that made them accept her. It was money.

Cecilia typed a message: Sorry, I fell asleep last night and didn't notice I'd been added to an unfamiliar group. I'm leaving the chat now. For those who messaged me privately, there's really no need. We're not even acquainted.

She hit send and exited the group. Then she adjusted her settings to avoid being added again without permission.

The Escobar family members, who had been so thrilled the day before, were left speechless.

She just left? Without saying anything else? And she called us strangers?

Eloise saw the message too. For a moment, she was stunned. "Why is Cecilia acting like this?"noveldrama

Tristian, who was much more tactful, said, "You'd better go apologize. Just tell her you didn't realize she doesn't like that kind of thing."

"Why should I? I added her out of kindness. She completely dismissed that like it meant nothing, and now I'm supposed to apologize?" Eloise snapped.

Tristian was at a loss. "How did I end up married to someone this clueless?"

He took the time to spell everything out for her. Outwardly, Eloise agreed to reach out to Cecilia and smooth things over. But behind the

e scenes,

she never actually apologized.

Instead, she sent a message: Ceci, were you able to take care of the thing I asked you about yesterday?
