Chapter 21
Chapter 21:.
Justin’s expression, who wasn’t interested in the movie, instantly darkened when he saw what she had done.
Instead of feeding her own daughter, she was feeding her son.
If something like this was not her attempt to please and pursue him, then how was she supposed to interpret his actions?
Sensing a cold aura coming from the side, Nora slowly opened her eyes and looked.
When she met Justin’s deep, dark eyes, which also had a slightly sharp gaze, she was puzzled for a moment.
Was she dreaming?
If not, why was she seeing Justin at the movies?
Her drowsiness disappeared instantly.
She lowered her eyes lazily and wondered, Is this a coincidence? Or is Justin here because he suspects I’m Anti and has come to sound me out?
Things had become problematic.
She wanted to pretend she didn’t see him, but her instinct told her that the man seemed to still be looking at her at the moment. Besides, he had a rather hostile look on his face.
Nora turned to the side and gave him a perfunctory salute. “What a coincidence, Mr. Hunt.”
A coincidence?
Justin’s gaze turned darker. “Never mind that we’re watching the same movie, but our seats happen to be next to each other? What a coincidence, really.”
Nora was puzzled.
Why did he sound so sarcastic?
She frowned. “What do you mean by that, Mr. Hunt?”
Justin replied coldly, “I already told you that I hate it when people try to get close to me by using my son. Have you forgotten what I said, Miss Smith?”
Nora was astonished.
He was misunderstanding her again and again. Had he had had enough?
Nora slowly withdrew her gaze and looked straight ahead earnestly. She said, “You are indeed an attractive man, Mr. Hunt, but you must not be too narcissistic either. Men like you who look better looking than women are not my type.”
Justin scoffed, “Your actions are so brazen, Miss Smith, and yet you try to hide your intentions? Let me set the record straight: I’m not interested in you. If you have time to seduce me, why don’t you think instead about how to cure your aunt’s illness?”
His words infuriated Nora, that man must be out of his mind! She said coldly, “Don’t worry, you don’t have to worry about my aunt’s illness at all!”.
When he heard her downplay the issue, Justin became even angrier. He was about to respond when the viewer with his children sitting in the row in front of him suddenly turned around and blurted out, “Hey, we’re in the middle of a movie, can you guys stop your marital squabbles here?”
Justin was puzzled.
Nora was puzzled.
The movie theater was pitch black. Justin didn’t know why, but he didn’t immediately feel any displeasure when someone mistook him and Nora as a married couple. Instead, a feeling of bemusement arose in him, not easily detectable.
The onlooker added earnestly, “Can’t you two, as husband and wife, control yourselves a little better in front of the children? You’re scaring them.”
Nora looked to where the spectator was pointing and looked down to see Cherry, who was sitting with a mask on and only her eyes uncovered.
Justin reached down and picked her up. He said with distaste, “That’s the last time I’m warning you, Miss Smith. The next time I see you come near my son, I won’t hold back.”
He walked away right after saying that.
Nora was puzzled.
She looked the other way, finding herself puzzled to see Pete there. It looked like his hand had gone to the other side when he was feeding Cherry just now, didn’t it?
As she hesitated, Pete quietly took her hand and said, “Let’s go too, Mom.”noveldrama
With that he declared that the first date had failed.
By the time they returned to the hotel, it was already four o’clock in the afternoon.
Nora went back to sleep. The next day’s operation would take seven or eight hours. If she didn’t get enough sleep, she wouldn’t have the strength and energy to endure it.
Pete, who was standing next to her, anxiously texted Cherry, “How’s it going over there, Cherry?”
Meanwhile, on the top floor.
Cherry was confronting Justin.
Justin ordered, “You are forbidden to make contact with that woman in the future.”
Cherry’s big eyes were full of complaint as she asked, “Why?”
Knowing that it was not right to speak ill of other people in front of the children, Justin did not answer right away.
However, Lawrence, who was standing next to him, replied, “It’s because he’s someone who stands on the sidelines and watches and does nothing even though his aunt is sick. On top of that, she even goes to the movies! That woman is too cold-blooded.”
Cherry was startled and replied angrily, “Mom is not cold-blooded! She’s a person who values relationships very much. I’m sure she’ll save Great Aunt.”
Justin’s expression darkened. It didn’t matter that he was cajoling his son to call her mom, But now he was even addressing his aunt as great-aunt?
“You’re a bad father! You can’t say that about her! I’m going to ignore you!”
Cherry pouted in aggravation. With tears in her eyes, she ran straight to the bedroom.
Justin clenched his fists in anger. He had gotten along well with his son today, but now he had made him cry because of that woman.
At that moment, Lawrence approached and said excitedly, “Mr. Hunt, we have received word that Anti is coming to the city hospital for an operation. Observers are allowed during the operation. I’ve asked for a spot and plan to send someone to stand guard. We’re sure to get her this time.”
Justin thought for a while and then looked around the bedroom. Finally, he said, “I’ll go in person!”.

The next day.
Nora didn’t go to the operating room after entering the hospital. She went to the ward first to visit her aunt, intending to comfort her.
As soon as she entered, a worried Lisa approached, “Nora, is it true the message you sent me yesterday saying that mom will be operated on today?”.
Nora nodded. “Yes.”
Beside her, Angela sneered, “You’re an uneducated scumbag, Nora. Do you know that Aunt Irene’s tumor is located in a very risky area? It’s impossible for normal surgeons to operate on her.”
Nora looked at her, “I know that.”
“Since you know that, then why did you keep looking for someone to operate on her? You clearly take her life lightly.” Angela looked at Will and Lisa and said, “I already showed Dr. Larson Aunt Irene’s CT scan a long time ago, and even he is hesitant to take on the task. Do you really think he can get a better doctor than Dr. Larson?”
Hearing this, Will asked somewhat hesitantly, “Tell me the truth, Nora – what’s the success rate of the operation?”
Before Nora could answer, Angela scoffed and said, “I’ll tell you the truth: there are only two doctors in the United States who can achieve a 50% success rate for this operation. Other than them, everyone else only achieves 10%. If you don’t have the operation, Aunt Irene can go on living for two more months, but if you do, there’s a 90% chance she won’t make it out of the operating room alive!”
His words frightened Lisa so much that the blood drained from her face. “Isn’t there a better doctor?”
“Oh, there is!” Angela said, “There’s Dr. Anti, the best surgeon in the world. For her, there is no surgery that can’t be done! She can achieve a 100% success rate. Unfortunately, Dr. Anti is currently overseas and a great distance from here. Even many of the rich and powerful can’t find her, so how is it possible for ordinary people like you to convince her to do it?”
“…”
The room fell silent.
Just when Angela was all smug and both Will and Lisa had lost all hope, the three of them suddenly heard Nora’s deep voice:
“In that case, do you know who the doctor is that I have?”
