Chapter 24

Chapter 24:

Justin had seen a picture of Anti before, but the woman who operated on her. She looked much thinner than the one in the photo?

He stood silently behind the crowd.

No one was allowed to enter the operating room in the middle of the operation. If it weren’t for the fact that this hospital belonged to the Hunts, it would have been very difficult for him to enter as well.

Therefore, Justin stuck very closely to the rules and did not go ahead immediately. He intended to wait until Anti had finished the operation before approaching her.

The operating room was very quiet. Only a woman’s professional but hoarse voice sounded from time to time:

“What’s her heart rate?”

“Her blood pressure?”

“Sheet number 10.”

“Hemostatic forceps.”

She had probably been operating on the patient for six and a half hours already. The assistant behind her was constantly wiping the sweat from her forehead, but even now, her hands were still very steady and showed no trace of trembling.

Her eyes, staring intently at the operating table, were focused and serious. Although his face could not be seen, he exuded an indescribable charm.

At first, Justin thought she had arrived too early and felt rather annoyed at having to wait here for twenty minutes. But as he watched her perform the dry and boring operation, before he knew it, the time had passed.

This continued until she finally said, “Close the wound.”

The assistant who had been behind her all this time replied, “Okay.”

The chief surgeon was the one performing the operation, while the assistant took care of the simple stitches at the end.

Everything had gone well in the operation so far.

But at this point.

It seemed that someone had accidentally knocked the tray held by the assistant, and the scalpel in it suddenly fell to the floor.

The scene instantly became a bit chaotic.

The lights around the operating table were very bright, which made the sides look a bit dark in comparison. Anti was hidden among the moving attendants.

Anti, who was among them, reprimanded, “Why were they so careless? It’s fortunate that only the last stitches are left. You guys, come clean up with me!”.

“All right.”

The assistants, along with Anti, were all wearing surgical gowns of the same color. They headed straight for the sterile area.

Justin quickly followed them.

After entering the sterile area, they removed their goggles, masks and gloves, and washed their hands with running water. Except for one, the rest were all blond.

Anti was not blonde.

So Justin stood behind the one person who wasn’t blonde, put his hand on her shoulder and said, “Hi, Anti. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

However, the woman who turned around was a mere stranger. She looked at Justin in surprise and said, “Dr. Anti has already left. I’m Lily, her assistant – you are?”

Justin frowned. It was then that he realized he had been tricked.

Did Anti really think he could get away today?

He took a step back, picked up his cell phone and called Lawrence. He coldly ordered, “Close all exits to the operating room and check all personnel inside!”

“Yes, sir.”

In the operating room.

Out of the corner of her eye, Nora could see Justin leaving the room. She let out a huge sigh of relief as he stood in front of the operating table.

She already knew, before coming as Anti to perform the operation, that the news would get out and attract the attention of that man of high social status.

Therefore, he had already made preparations for it beforehand.

It was known that the chief surgeon did not do trivial things like sutures.

However, Nora demanded perfection when operating on her aunt, so she would definitely do it herself.

For everyone else, Anti had already left with the assistants. Who would have thought that he had turned around in the midst of the chaos earlier and was actually still here?

She moved quickly. In barely ten minutes, the stitching was finished.

Finally, after checking his aunt’s various data indicators, he announced, “Operation successful.”

The task of postoperative care was entrusted to a nurse practitioner. She and the two remaining assistants followed the observing physicians to the sterile area.

Nora yawned sleepily.

The wear and tear of a seven-hour operation was unimaginable. For people of naturally weak constitution, such as herself, it was very tiring.

She would probably have to sleep for 14 to 15 hours straight when she returned later.

She was thinking about that when she suddenly became aware of Lily, who was in the sterile area, looking at her.

Nora stopped. A foreboding feeling suddenly dawned on her.

The next moment, she saw a row of black-clad bodyguards standing at the entrance to the operating room and checking everyone’s identities one by one.

Lily angrily demanded, “What is the meaning of this, Mr. Hunt, we have been invited to perform an operation, why must we submit to your irrational interrogation?”

Justin stood guard at the door with an unwelcoming presence, his tall figure giving off a strong sense of oppression.

Beside him, a deadpan Lawrence replied, “My apologies, miss. After all, you are not doctors employed by this hospital. If any accident happens to the patient, I’m afraid we will have to take responsibility. Therefore, please leave your contact information.”

Nora lowered her gaze slightly and sighed inwardly, That tyrant is really hard to evade.

How about fighting her way out? However, her sore fingers and weak legs told her she didn’t have enough strength to do so.

She didn’t notice Justin watching her.

Although he was wearing a surgical gown, his figure was very similar to Anti’s.

Everyone in front was cooperating with Lawrence’s investigation, but she was the only one standing in the back and seemed to have a bit of a guilty conscience.

Justin moved closer to her. His thin lips parted slightly and he said, “That was a really good trick. You almost had me there.”

Everyone looked on, making Nora the center of attention in the sterile area.

Justin said solemnly, “Dr. Anti, why don’t you take off your mask?”

The man was tall, there was an intimidating, oppressive air about him as he stood in front of one.noveldrama

Suddenly, Nora let out a low chuckle. Then, she reached up and took off her mask and glasses. The goggles hooked onto her surgical cap, causing her dark hair to also cascade down along with the action.

Justin’s eyes widened as he saw her familiar, luscious face.

How could it be her?

Nora looked down as she always did, then said in a low, lazy voice, “Since you’ve caught me, I have nothing to say.”

Justin’s heart skipped a beat. Then he heard her continue and say, “I did make a mistake by sneaking into the operating room to watch my aunt. If the hospital wants to hold me responsible, I’ll accept it.”

Then she looked up and said coldly, “However, as the patient’s family member, I should think that the hospital can understand why I did that…”.

His voice was cold and clear as the clinking of glasses, giving off a sense of firmness.

The first thought that came to Justin’s mind was, ‘So he didn’t ignore his aunt!’

Nora watched the man in front of her.

His gaze was unfathomable, his eyes were deep and dark. Even the mole in his eye gave off an unpredictable and mysterious air.

She didn’t know if she believed her or not.

While she was thinking, the man suddenly said, “If Miss Smith will agree to a condition of mine, then, on behalf of the hospital, I can promise that I will not hold her responsible.”

“What’s that about?”

Justin let out a low cough and said, “Come back to the hotel with me and play with my son for two hours.”

Pete had been angry with him since the night before and had ignored him even until he got out, he kept asking about Mom.

Now that he knew she wasn’t such a cold and unfeeling person, his son would definitely cheer up if he brought her back, wouldn’t he?

Nora was puzzled .
