She's the Campus Prince

Chapter 686

Cameron was in unbearable pain, but what hurt even more was the overwhelming loneliness in her heart.

Her parents just treated her as a tool to help them climb the social ladder, and no one had ever truly cared about her.

Cameron was always unwelcome wherever she was, and she couldn't see the point of living.

She ran up to the hospital's roof terrace for some fresh air. She didn't want to die, even though she was hated and bullied by everyone. That was just life instinct.

But then, someone suddenly shoved her off the rooftop from behind, killing her on the spot.

She never knew who that boy was-the one who'd brought her a little warmth before her death. As for the person who pushed her off the rooftop and ended her life, she had even less of a clue.

Cameron let out a soft sigh.

It was more than a thousand years ago, just past history. There was no one left for her to repay or take revenge on, even if she wanted to.

Cameron's gaze wandered, and in the darkness, she glanced at Bradley lying on the couch, who was already asleep.

The couch was far from comfortable, but once fatigue took over, he still managed to drift off.

Cameron hugged the blanket, quietly watching Bradley. A smile touched the corners of her mouth. Before long, she drifted back to sleep.

The next morning, Cameron woke up naturally.

Every day, she woke up right at 6:30 pm-always beating her alarm to it.

As soon as she got up, Bradley, lying on the couch, opened his eyes.

"Good morning." He sat up, picked up his glasses from the coffee table, and put them on, still bleary-eyed.

"It's still early, Brad. You can get some more sleep," Cameron said.

Bradley got up, walked to the bedside and sat down. He took Cameron's hand, then gently held the back of her head with his other hand to draw her close to him before leaning down and kissing her forehead.

"Did you have a good sleep?" Bradley asked gently.

Cameron nodded. "I slept very well. What about you? Is your back sore?"

Bradley gently ruffled her hair. "I had a good night's rest too."

'No way he actually slept well on that tiny couch, Cameron thought, a smile tugging at her lips. In fact, the couch wasn't small unless it was compared to Bradley's tall frame.

Cameron got out of bed and went to wash up. Bradley followed and stood in front of the mirror with her.

Cameron lowered her head to brush her teeth, while Bradley, brushing his, kept watching her in the mirror, his eyes full of laughter.

Right then, he and Cameron seemed to have been together for years, and it was just another ordinary morning-waking up and getting washed side by side... Everything was just so nice.

Cameron looked up and caught Bradley grinning in the mirror. "What are you smiling about?"

Bradley put his arm around her waist. "Cam, being with you just makes me so happy, I can't help but smile."

Cameron chuckled, "Congratulations, you got what you wanted."

Once Cameron finished washing up, she stepped out of the bathroom, closely followed by Bradley.

After they both got dressed, Bradley took Cameron's hand, and they walked downstairs together.

"Breakfast probably isn't ready yet," Bradley said.

"Let's take a walk in the courtyard," Cameron suggested.

Hand in hand, they walked towards the door and bumped into the butler, who had just gotten up.

The butler greeted them with a beaming smile. "Good morning, Mr. Saunders, Miss Yates."

"Good morning." Cameron and Bradley said in unison.

The butler said, "Mr. Saunders, Miss Yates, just a moment, please. I'll get breakfast ready right away."

"Just keep it simple," Cameron reminded, thinking last night's feast was just too much of a waste..

The butler nodded and headed into the kitchen.

Hand in hand, Bradley and Cameron wandered through the courtyard and smelt the fresh air, bathed in the gentle light of dawn.

Cameron raised her head toward the sunlight, as Bradley put his arms around her waist from behind, her back resting against his broad chest.

Gazing at the rising sun, Bradley sighed softly, "Cam, if only we could watch the sunrise together every day."

Cameron chuckled, "Brad, that's not exactly an easy wish to grant."

"I know it's not the right moment to talk about this," Bradley said.noveldrama

They'd just made it official yesterday, so it wasn't like they could openly spend all their time together.

Besides, Cameron had her own business to handle, and so did he. At their age, love was no longer the only thing in their lives.

Cameron turned around to face him, gazing up into his deep eyes. "Brad, I mean, there won't be a sunrise every day."

Bradley smiled, looking down at her. "You're right."

Cameron was also staring at him with a bright, cheerful smile.

tooking into each other's eyes, neither was willing to look away.

Subconsciously, Bradley leaned in and gave her a deep kiss.

Meanwhile, the butler stood in the kitchen, cooking while looking out the window

at the two of them smooching. He couldn't help but smile.

'Youth really is a good thing,' he thought. 'Falling in love is just so wonderful.' During breakfast, Cameron got a WhatsApp message from Jacqueline. [Cam, bring Brad home for dinner tonight.]

Cameron glanced up at Bradley sitting next to her. "Brad, are you free tonight?” Without even asking what she wanted him to do, Bradley nodded. "Yeah, I'm free."

Cameron said, "My mom wants me to bring you home for dinner." Chapter 886

Bradley's lips curled into a smile. "Nothing would make me happier?

It wasn't like last time he'd just gone to the Yates family's place to take shatter from the rain.

This time, he was visiting them as Cameron's boyfriend, so he had to be well prepared,

From now on, Cameron's family was his family too.

Cameron replied to Jacqueline: [Okay, mom.]

After breakfast, Bradley drove Cameron to the office of Aurevia Biotech.

"Cam, I'll pick you up this afternoon," Bradley said,

Cameron nodded. "Okay."

She got out of the car and waved goodbye to him, who watched as she disappeared into the lobby,

Their relationship wasn't passionate or intense, but cozy and peaceful, as if they'd already been together for years.

Bradley loved that simple, genuine feeling. He truly felt that Cameron had belonged to him, filling up the emptiness in his heart, a void that had lasted seven

whole years.

His mouth tilted upwards slightly at the corners as Bradley watched until

Cameron's figure disappeared from sight before looking away.

Just as Bradley was about to drive off, he got a call from Eddie.

"Hey, Eddie," Bradley greeted first.

"Brad, you free at noon? I wanna invite you and Cam out for lunch," Eddie said,

his voice steady as ever.

Now that Bradley and Cameron were finally together, Eddie finally felt like he

could face Cameron again.

"I'm free, but I'll have to check with Cam," Bradley said.

Bradley wasn't planning on going to the law firm today, because he had to select some gifts for the Yates family before visiting them tonight.

With Eddie coming over, Bradley'd have someone to help him choose-two heads were better than one, after all.

"Alright, if she's busy and wanna take a rain check, it's fine," Eddie said.

"Okay," Bradley replied.

After hanging up with Eddie, Bradley immediately called Cameron, who had just settled into her office chair.

"Hello, Brad," Cameron said as she picked up her phone.

Bradley got straight to the point. "Cam, my fourth brother wanna have lunch with

us. Are you free around noon?"

"Fourth brother?" Cameron repeated, a bit surprised.

'Is it Eddie?' Cameron wondered to herself. It had been a long time since she'd

heard that name.

"Yeah, my fourth brother," Bradley replied.

"Sure, I've got a lunch break. You can fix it with him," Cameron said.

"Alright, I'll pick you up at noon," smiled Bradley, who thought he wouldn't get to

see Cameron again until after work. But now, just three more hours and they'd be

together again.

Cameron replied, a smile in her voice, "Alright, see you at noon."

At exactly noon, Bradley's black Mercedes pulled up outside the building of

Aurevia Biotech.

Eddie had already taken the back seat tactfully.

The trunk was filled with gifts Bradley had picked out that morning at the mall for

the Yates family.

At 12:05 pm, Cameron stepped out in her high heels.

Through the car window, Eddie caught sight of Cameron in her dress and thought

to himself, 'Cameron really is beautiful.”

When dressed as a man, she looked handsome; but now, back to her old self, she was still just as stunning.

Bradley spotted Cameron too and rolled down the window on the passenger side,

a smile tugging at his lips. "Cam."

Cameron gave him a wave and hurried over, opened the front passenger door,

got in, and buckled up.

"Hello, Cameron," Eddie called out in greeting.

"Eddie..." Cameron looked back at him, a flicker of hesitation in her eyes. 'Wait, is the guy in the back really Eddie?' Cameron wondered.

The man in the back seat was wearing a black shirt, buttoned all the way up. His handsome face was expressionless, and the messy, colorful hair he used to have was now cut short, back to its natural color, making him steady and mature.

'Is this really the same Eddie who used to show off as a playboy?' Cameron thought, a little stunned. But she soon turned away from him.

"So, Cam, what would you like to eat?" Bradley asked as he drove.

Cameron looked back at Eddie again. "Eddie, what do you feel like eating?"

"I'm not bothered," Eddie replied.

Bradley added, "He's not picky at all."

Cameron didn't know what to say. In her memory, Eddie used to be such a fussy

eater. She never expected he'd change this much.

Bradley said, "There's a new seafood restaurant nearby that's been getting a lot of

buzz lately. Wanna check it out?"

Cameron nodded. "Sounds good to me."

She glanced back at Eddie. "How about you, Eddie? You up for it?"

Eddie nodded. "Sure, I'm good with that."

Cameron smiled, "You've really changed a lot, Eddie."/

There was finally a ghost of a smile on his face. "You've changed even more-

heck, you even switched genders."

Cameron grinned at that without saying anything more.

The seafood restaurant was definitely popular, but since they arrived early and it

was a weekday, it wasn't very crowded. After entering, they picked out a private room for themselves.

"Brad, wanna try this one?" Cameron asked.

Cameron and Bradley sat side by side, their heads almost touching as they

browsed the menu together, looking very close.

"Sure," Bradley replied, with his arm round Cameron's shoulder.

Eddie sat across from them, a faint smile playing at his lips as he watched the two

of them.

Seeing Brad so happy genuinely made Eddie feel delighted too, because it used

to be a grief to Eddie too. 'This is really great, he thought.

After Cameron and Bradley finished ordering, they handed the menu to Eddie.

"Eddie, wanna order a few more dishes?"

Eddie had already ordered his dishes before, and he shook his head. "No need."

Cameron asked, "Would you like red or white, Eddie?"

"Either's fine," Eddie replied.

Cameron just blinked, a little speechless.

"Let's go with red," Bradley said.

Since Bradley needed to drive and Cameron still had work to do in the afternoon,

neither of them went for alcohol. Instead, they just ordered two soft drinks. After placing their order for a meal, Cameron handed the menu to the server. During the meal, Eddie let out a sigh. "Brad, Cameron, if my parents hadn't believed Nell, you two wouldn't have missed out on seven years together." Cameron paused and shook her head. “Eddie, it's not that simple."

Back then, she had been uncertain of her feelings, so if Bradley had tried to keep

her around by force, they probably would've fallen out a long time ago.

And then there wouldn't have been any future in their relationship.

The reason why Cameron could forgive Bradley was he'd never done her any real

harm.

But honestly, if it weren't for Cameron's indulgence, that small castle of his never could've held her in captivity. Eddie asked, "Why? Is there even something I don't know?" "Eddie," Bradley said, sliding a plate of oysters over, "have a try."

Eddie looked at Bradley and, seeing the frown on Bradley's face, knew right away

he'd said something he shouldn't have.

Eddie quickly steered the conversation away from it. "The food here is actually

really good."

Cameron nodded. "Yeah, it's pretty nice."

Eddie raised his glass. "Cameron Wallace-or should I call you Cameron Yates

now? Congrats on developing the wonder drug for leukemia."

Cameron lifted her cup of soft drink. "Thanks."

And just like that, the previous subject was dropped./

Eddie had come to Viremont mainly just to see Cameron and Bradley.

After lunch, Eddie headed back to Steerfall.

Before leaving, Eddie patted Bradley on the shoulder. "Brad, be good to Cameron."

Bradley nodded. "I will,"

Now that he could finally be with her aboveboard, there was no way he'd ever let

go.

After finishing speaking, Eddie left, and Bradley drove Cameron back to Aurevia

Biotech,

On the way, Cameron commented without ceremony, "Eddie's really changed a

lot."

For someone to turn their whole life around like that, they must've gone through something unusual.

Bradley nodded. "Yeah, he looks really different than he was a few years ago."

Cameron turned her head to look out the window, watching the scenery recede into the distance.

As time flew, she was no longer the girl who had just experienced world-hopping.

Bradley asked, "Cam, do you want to know why?" Cameron was also curious. "Why?"

As he drove, Bradley gave Cameron a quick rundown of what had happened.

Cameron fell silent. She really didn't know what to say after hearing all that. Honestly, things turned out pretty well in the end.

Eddie couldn't just keep messing around forever. He was only a year older than Bradley, still young with a chance to turn over a new leaf.

As Bradley pulled the car up outside the building of Aurevia Biotech, Cameron

immediately reached for her safety belt, ready to get out.

But Bradley gently held her hand. "Cam, wait a second."

"What?" Cameron turned to look at him.

Bradley said, "I picked out some gifts for your family this morning, but I'm

uncertain if they're their style. Could you take a look and give advice? If you don't

think they're a good fit, I still have time this afternoon to go select something else."
