Chapter 1244
Chapter 1244:
Raymond’s anger flared as he caught the scent of alcohol on Luella’s breath. “How could you drive when you were drunk? Did you want to put yourself in danger? Do you realize you could end up in jail if that person dies today?”
“I thought I had you to help me with anything,” Luella murmured, her voice trembling with fear yet defiant. In her eyes, Raymond could handle anything; a car accident was nothing to him.
Raymond was furious. “Go home and wait for me. Don’t come out unless I say so!”
Seeing that Luella stayed still, he grabbed her arm and quickly led her away.
Eileen suddenly had an uneasy feeling as she glanced at the documents spread across the desk.
“These projects were just finalized by Mr. Dawson. The business partners have already sent over the contracts. If everything looks good, please go ahead and sign them,” the secretary said.
Usually, Raymond would be the one to review these, but with him away, the secretary had brought the contracts to Eileen.
“Let’s hold off on these until tomorrow after Raymond is back,” Eileen said, checking her watch. It was nearly time to get off work, but Raymond still hadn’t returned. She then looked up at the secretary. “You can go ahead and leave now.”
After standing up, Eileen grabbed her coat and walked out of the office with the secretary.
It wasn’t until she got inside her car and drove for a while that she finally called Raymond. He answered the call quickly.

Eileen asked, “Have you managed to deal with the issue? Is everything okay?” She knew about the health issues Raymond’s parents faced.
If it hadn’t been for the afternoon’s hectic schedule and her losing track of time while buried in work, she would have checked in on Raymond sooner.noveldrama
Raymond responded promptly, “It’s nothing serious. Thanks for asking, but I’ll need to take a day off tomorrow to sort everything out.”
Eileen agreed without a second thought.
However, the next morning, the stack of contracts on Eileen’s desk reminded her that they were still waiting for Raymond’s review.
She wasn’t familiar with all the projects Bryan had negotiated, but Raymond knew them well. Realizing this, she knew she needed Raymond to handle the contracts. She called Raymond and said, “There are several contracts that need your review. If you can’t make it here today because you’re tied up, I can have someone bring them to you.”
At that moment, Raymond was in the hospital with Presley, who was smiling at him.
When Presley heard the mention of the contracts, her eyebrows shot up, and she locked eyes with Raymond.
“I’ll get back to the office and handle them as soon as I can,” Raymond responded.
“No rush. If you’re busy, take another couple of days off. I’ll have the essential stuff sent over, and I can manage the rest myself,” Eileen said. Over the phone, she could hear that Raymond was in the hospital.
She immediately gave Raymond two more days off and instructed her secretary to deliver the contracts to the hospital before hanging up.
