Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1245

Chapter 1245:

Presley crossed her arms and smirked at Raymond. “Looks like a good opportunity, right? The EB Group sure has its hands full managing several projects at once. Don’t you think they might be overwhelmed? I like to think I’m helping them lighten the load.”

Raymond’s face turned pale with anger. Presley was clearly taking advantage of the situation.

Raymond then glanced over at the ICU, where a patient, entangled in a maze of tubes, looked as if they could die at any moment.

“The doctor mentioned there’s only about an hour left,” Presley said calmly, taking her seat on the bench without a trace of urgency.

Raymond could feel cold sweat beading on his forehead. Every time he thought about how Luella must be at home, terrified and in tears, and how his elderly parents had likely spent a sleepless night, worry gnawed at him. However, the thought of Eileen’s and Bryan’s kindness to him kept resurfacing in his mind…noveldrama

While Presley appeared to be lazily toying with her fingers, she was secretly observing Raymond. She noticed every flicker of hesitation and unease that crossed his face.

Usually, an hour would fly by for Raymond when he was working, but now, each minute dragged on, heavy and suffocating.

After what felt like an eternity, Presley checked her watch before standing up abruptly. “Well, it’s time. I’m starting to think her condition is worse than expected. Could even be brain death. Guess we’ll just have to deal with the matter according to the law.” With that, Presley turned and started to leave.

One of Presley’s people was about to dial the police, but before he could make the call, Raymond lunged forward, grabbing his arm to stop him. “Wait, give me some time to think about this,” Raymond said.

“I don’t have time for your games,” Presley said coolly, pausing. “Decide right now. Are you willing to let your sister go to jail or not? Three, two—”

“No!” Raymond said without hesitation.

Presley’s smile appeared in an instant as she instructed her people, “Head to the station and withdraw the case. Let them know we’ll handle this privately.”

She then turned to Raymond and added, “I assume the person with the contracts is almost here, right? Let’s go. We’re talking about deals worth hundreds of millions here. Can’t afford to mess this up.”

Raymond stood frozen for a moment, processing everything, before reluctantly trailing behind Presley.

Just ten minutes ago, the secretary delivering the contracts had arrived at the hospital. She had tried calling Raymond, but her calls had gone unanswered.

When the secretary finally spotted Raymond heading down, she let out a sigh of relief. “You’re here at last. I was starting to get worried,” she said.

“Hand me the documents. You can head back now,” Raymond said as he took the stack of contracts from her. The weight of the papers seemed overwhelming, as if they weighed far more than they should.

“Mrs. Dawson asked me to take them back after you’ve reviewed everything. That way, you don’t need to go to the office again since you’re clearly busy here,” the secretary said.

Guilt filled Raymond’s eyes as he responded, “Just let her know that I’ve sorted out my situation here. Once I go through these, I’ll personally deliver the contracts to each business partner myself.”
