“Raymond, wait for me by the car. You’ll drive me home once the meal is done,” Presley instructed arrogantly.

Raymond kept his head down, avoiding eye contact with Eileen. He quickly nodded in response to Presley’s command, turned on his heel, and walked away.

Eileen watched Raymond leave, not knowing what to say. Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself and entered the room, forcing an air of calm and choosing to ignore Presley.

There were many people inside. When the Freguson Group’s business partner spotted Eileen, he jumped to his feet, eager to offer her a seat.

“Thanks, but there’s no need for me to sit down. Just sign the contract. I won’t take up any more of your time,” Eileen said, showing no interest in staying for the meal.

She flipped to the final page of the contract and slid it toward the business partner.

The business partner, visibly nervous, quickly signed the contract. “Mrs. Dawson, please have something to eat before you head back. Feel free to order whatever you like.”

“No, that’s alright,” Eileen responded firmly. Seeing the contract signed, she added, “The Freguson Group will follow up with you regarding the project. I hope we can have a pleasant cooperation.”

Without another word, she turned around and started to walk away.

The business partner rushed after her, quickly explaining, “Mrs. Dawson, I didn’t ask anyone from the Deleon Group to be here. Please don’t get the wrong idea or be upset. Mrs. Deleon only came here to see Mr. Aguilar…”

Eileen was confused. Jovanni had always been a loyal client of the Apex Group. How could he possibly be meeting with the Deleon Group now?

“I’ve heard rumors that… He has partnered up with the Deleon Group,” the business partner said. “Mr. Aguilar didn’t seem too keen on discussing it, so I didn’t press him for details on their collaboration.”

Eileen tucked her hands into her pockets and heard footsteps from behind. She turned to see who it was.

Presley had emerged from the room but didn’t approach Eileen. Instead, she stood in the doorway, wearing a smirk.

“You can head back now. Don’t worry; this won’t affect our collaboration,” Eileen reassured the business partner before hurrying off.

Instead of going home, she headed straight for the EB Group.

Standing outside the towering building, Eileen stared up at the light shining inside the office on the top floor. After a moment of hesitation, she decided to step out of the car.

She used the executive elevator to get to the top floor. When she reached the office outside Bryan’s, she spotted his secretary, who had dozed off at her desk.

Hearing Eileen’s footsteps, the secretary woke up and quickly stood. “Mrs. Dawson, what brings you here? I… I’ll notify Mr. Dawson right away.”

“That won’t be necessary,” Eileen replied softly, motioning for the secretary to sit back down. “Bring me up to speed on what has been happening in the company lately.”
