Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1254

Chapter 1254:

Raymond’s resignation had been a significant event. His decision to join the Deleon Group had sent shockwaves throughout the entire business world.

The secretary, clearly nervous, sat back down and said, “Raymond resigned the day after receiving his paycheck, and… Well, the last time you asked me to send him the contracts for review, things took a turn. Eighty percent of those contracts have now been signed over to the Deleon Group. The remaining twenty percent are from our long-term business partners, the ones who refused to work with the Deleon Group. Raymond’s sudden resignation wasn’t by the book—he paid a penalty for leaving like this. The money was wired straight from the Deleon Group’s official account.”

In other words, the Deleon Group had poached Raymond, and they made no attempt to hide it. It was a bold, deliberate move.

No wonder Bryan had been swamped with work lately. The only thing his secretary could do was help keep his schedule on track.

Eileen exhaled deeply, giving the secretary a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “You can go home now. I’ll handle the rest from here,” she said calmly.

With that, she turned on her heel and made her way into the CEO’s office.

“Go ahead and clock out for the night. Be here by five in the morning tomorrow to get everything ready for the international video conference,” Bryan instructed, not looking up from his work, assuming it was his secretary who had just entered.

He then heard only soft footsteps.

Bryan paused, looked up, and finally saw Eileen.

“What brings you here?” he asked, rising from his seat. He circled his desk, guiding her to sit on the sofa, and handed her a glass of milk. “I thought I told you to rest after dinner.”

Eileen took a sip and said, “If I hadn’t shown up, I wouldn’t have even known Raymond resigned. Why didn’t you tell me something this important?”

“Telling you wouldn’t have fixed anything; it would only make you feel worried.” Bryan reached for a tissue, softly dabbing the milk stains from the corner of Eileen’s mouth. “He left, but it’s not a big loss. I’ve just got a bit more work now; that’s all.”

Just a bit more?” Eileen tapped her watch lightly. “You have been working until this hour every day recently.” Raymond had handled half of their workload before.

Not to mention, a huge chunk of it was incredibly tedious. Looking up documents, reviewing contracts, and researching cases all took up a lot of time and energy.

Raymond’s abrupt departure left Bryan without anyone he could trust to take over the job right away, which meant he was overloaded with work.

“Starting tomorrow, I’m coming to the office with you,” Eileen declared.

Bryan immediately shook his head. “You don’t have to do that. It’s exhausting, and you’ll be worn out by these tedious tasks. How can you manage that?”

After a moment of silence, Eileen responded, “What I mean is, I’ll take over running the company, and you can handle Raymond’s responsibilities.”

Eileen was aware of her body’s condition and took this seriously. She would only continue signing agreements and attending meetings as before. However, when she attended the meetings for Bryan, he could manage many other tasks.

Bryan found himself momentarily speechless. Feeling a bit awkward, he managed a smile and said, “Sure, I’ll take your advice. If you feel tired, you can take a rest whenever you want.”
