Chapter 1300
Chapter 1300:
“Gabriela cried her eyes out when she got the injection. It broke my heart,” Ruby said, gently touching Gabriela’s forehead.
“It’s just a shot now. If she gets really sick because she doesn’t get vaccinated, she will suffer more,” Eileen said, sneaking a look at Ruby’s loving gaze at Gabriela in the rearview mirror. A warmth spread through her chest.
Ruby went on and on about getting Gabriela the candies she had been begging for, plus a whole bunch of other treats.
These were things Eileen had refused to buy for Gabriela before, thinking she already had enough.
However, this time, Eileen couldn’t stop Ruby. Ruby settled the sleeping Gabriela in the backseat and then made a beeline for the supermarket, soon returning with a bag overflowing with snacks.
When Gabriela woke up and saw the snacks, she smiled. “Grandma is the best!”noveldrama
After dinner, Eileen started feeling sleepy. She remembered the medicine she had gotten from the hospital.
Ruby and the others were in the living room. Eileen went to take the little bottle out of her pocket and shook out two pills. Then, she put the bottle in her bag. When she was about to take the pills, she froze.
The pills in her hand were pink. She had taken this medicine before, and the pills were supposed to be white.
“Eileen, what are you staring at?” Ruby asked, noticing Eileen frozen in the doorway. “Did you forget something at the hospital today?”

Eileen snapped back to reality, quickly concealing the pills in her hand. She shook her head at Ruby. “No, I just thought I forgot something. Can’t put my finger on it, though.”
Ruby chuckled. “You are still young, but your memory seems to be slipping lately. Go have some warm milk. I’ll get Gabriela bathed and see if she wants to sleep in your room tonight. If not, I’ll put her to bed in my room.”
“Okay,” Eileen replied, turning away. She found that the pills in her hand had disappeared. Ruby kept urging her, so she went to drink the milk.
After drinking the milk, Eileen remembered—her medication and milk should be taken at least half an hour apart.
Ruby was chasing Gabriela around on the first floor, so Eileen went to find Bryan instead. “Hey, can you grab the medication for my pregnancy from my bag downstairs?” she asked Bryan.
Bryan went downstairs without hesitation. However, when he came back, he was empty-handed. “I took the medicine, but your mother was taking out the trash and saw me. I panicked and said it was trash, so I tossed it. I’ll… I’ll get you a new bottle of medicine tomorrow.”
Eileen’s lips twitched with resignation.
As they got into bed, Bryan asked, “Did you see anyone at the hospital today?”
Eileen frowned. “Why? Are you spying on me? Or Presley?”
“So, you ran into Presley, huh?” Bryan said, his eyes turning cold.
