Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1302

Chapter 1302:

A hint of unease crept in—she had just caused some trouble for Stella recently, and now, Bryan was here.

Javier chuckled, his beard shaking a little. “Why are you so nervous? You’re my wife. Why would I believe some outsider over you?” He shot a glance at Bryan, their eyes locking for a moment, but he didn’t take Bryan seriously.

Bryan didn’t seem bothered. He casually tossed a folder onto a bench and sat down, hands in his pockets, watching Javier and Amoura.

After half an hour, Amoura’s discomfort grew. She didn’t dare look at Bryan, but she could feel his eyes on her. Losing interest, she muttered, “This is getting boring, and the weather is cold. I don’t feel like playing anymore.”

“If you’re done playing, let’s go take a break,” Javier suggested, motioning toward the resting area. As they headed over, Javier acted like he just noticed Bryan. “Why are you here?” he asked.

“I heard you were here, so I figured I’d stop by,” Bryan replied, putting out his cigarette as he stood. “I’ve got something you should see.”

Javier’s gaze lingered on the folder, but he made no move to touch it. Amoura, however, couldn’t resist her curiosity. She reached over and grabbed it. “What’s this? You won’t mind if I take a look, right?” she asked.noveldrama

Bryan stayed silent.

Since Bryan didn’t respond, Amoura opened the folder. The documents inside were medical records, complete with dates and patient details. Amoura froze after reading them.

Javier noticed her reaction and grabbed the documents on the table. They were abortion consent forms for Presley, dated from around when he had last visited her. He had been puzzled by Presley’s odd behavior—always wrapped up in layers, sipping on those nourishing soups. She had claimed it was for her health. Now, it all made sense—she hadn’t been preparing for a baby; she had been recovering from an abortion.

Javier’s face clouded, a storm of anger brewing in his eyes.

“Mr. Deleon, I’m sure you’ve heard the rumors about Presley and me,” Bryan said, keeping his tone steady. “I want to set the record straight—I have no interest in her. You understand why she wants to get closer to me…” The implication hung in the air, clear for Javier. After all, Presley was one to chase after money and good looks; Bryan had both.

After a pause, Bryan added, “She was not planning to have another child for your family, so her heart was already elsewhere. The divorce has nothing to do with me.”

“I know,” Javier responded. “I wasn’t planning to blame you for the rumors. You’re a decent man for explaining everything to me. Don’t worry; I won’t let her damage the bond between our families.”

In truth, Javier was irritated that Bryan seemed unaffected while his family had faced embarrassment over the hotel incident. But he knew better than to confront Bryan considering the Dawson family’s influence. Javier casually tossed the documents back onto the table and said, “It’s getting late. You should go. We’ve got a few more rounds to play.”

“Go ahead,” Bryan replied, getting to his feet. He glanced at Amoura’s hand, reddened from gripping the golf club in the cold weather, and then quickly looked away. “Let’s catch up over dinner sometime. Goodbye.”

With that, he strolled toward the golf cart, hands in his pockets.
