Chapter 1350
Chapter 1350:
Eileen was confused. “Didn’t I promise to buy you a doll for your birthday?”
“Buy it now.” Gabriela pointed at the card in Eileen’s hand. “It’s my money.”
Eileen looked down, even more baffled. “Your money hasn’t been deposited yet. The money on this card is still my money.”
Gabriela shook her head and replied, “No, in the future, it will all be my money. Buy it now!”
Eileen was speechless for a moment. She finally understood that clever little Gabriela had not only held onto her own money now but had also taken her words seriously, staking a claim on her future inheritance.
“You are still young and not yet able to make financial decisions. You need to listen to me now. When you’re older, you can decide for yourself.” Eileen extended her hand. “Now, give me your money. I’ll save it for you, and when you’re older, you can decide how to use it.”
Her patience was wearing thin, and her voice became stern. Gabriela lowered her head, reluctantly eyeing the money in her purse. Her small hand hovered over it.
Eventually, Gabriela handed her purse to Eileen and sprawled out on the bed, her body languishing in a state of despair. Eileen carefully put away all the money in Gabriela’s purse. Seeing Gabriela’s sullen expression, she said gently, “Tomorrow, I’ll take you to the bank to deposit the money, and then I’ll give you the bank card. Okay?”
“Okay,” Gabriela agreed, though her voice lacked enthusiasm.

She didn’t understand the value of a card.
The next morning, Eileen took Gabriela to a nearby bank to open a new account and deposited the money while Gabriela observed.
“Now, I’ll take you to the supermarket to buy some snacks with the card. You’ll see that this card is just as good as cash,” Eileen explained.
She handed the card to Gabriela and led her out of the bank, heading directly to a nearby supermarket. There, they bought Gabriela’s favorite chocolate cookies using the card. Seeing that the card could indeed be used to buy things, Gabriela was overjoyed and carefully tucked the card into her pocket.
As they left the supermarket, Eileen noticed a familiar figure at the corner.
Milford was accompanying a man who was using an ATM.
Nearly half a year had passed since Milford’s release from prison. His hair, once buzzed short, had grown out, and he was now dressed neatly.noveldrama
His youthful face had taken on a more mature look, and his eyes displayed a coldness that spoke of enduring many hardships.
Milford was focused on watching the man and didn’t notice Eileen standing outside the bank.
Eileen observed Milford for a moment, then escorted Gabriela back to the car, watching him through the car window.
The man finished using the ATM, tucking a thick stack of cash into his pocket and handing a bundle to Milford.
