Shunned By An Alpha, Cherised By A Lycan

Chapter 224

Chapter 224:

Hell yeah, we were going to fucking find her.

The day dragged on, and in the middle of a meeting, I realized I hadn’t dropped by to check on Jasmine like I promised. Shit. At that moment, I knew I should have called to apologize, but I didn’t. Instead, I sent a text. Two hours later, she still hadn’t replied, which meant I had a lot of apologizing to do.

The moment I stepped into the pack house, I pulled off my tie. Why I even wore one, I wasn’t sure, but I knew I had to—something about looking responsible.

My room was empty, not that I was surprised. Jasmine was stubborn. A smirk tugged at my lips as I shut the door behind me. So, she didn’t follow her bed rest orders after all. Maybe I should have called… I dialed her number four more times, but she didn’t pick up. Okay, now I was bothered.

I hurried downstairs, my left foot hitting the first step, when I caught Seraphina scurrying past me. I barely blinked before she disappeared behind the walls leading to the dining area. I craned my neck to look, and there she was, seated at one of the chairs, her shoulders hunched in an awkward position.

Well, well, this was strange.

“Seraphina?” I tapped her shoulder, and she jerked immediately, knocking her chair flat onto the floor. A haunted look paled her face as she placed a hand on her shoulder, her heavy breathing obvious as her chest heaved.noveldrama

“Are you okay?” I arched my brows, suspicious.

Seraphina nodded, her eyes darting around nervously.

“Where is Jasmine?” The question had barely left my lips when her shoulders began to shake, and several tears rolled down her cheeks. What the hell?

I shook her by the shoulder. “What happened?” I hissed, my mind spinning like a tornado at its peak. Pessimistic thoughts left me scared shitless, filled with blind rage.

Seraphina shook her head, still sobbing. “Goddammit! Say something, Seraphina!” I cursed under my breath.

“She’s missing. The guards have been searching for her, but no one has seen her. I’m sorry, Alpha. I followed her to the hospital, but someone knocked out Maxwell, and…”

“They pressed something to my nose, and I fell unconscious,” Seraphina rambled. From the way she shuddered every now and then, I could tell she was still horrified.

As for me… I stayed quiet, my body burning with a blinding rage. My grip tightened on the table, and my eyelids twitched. My fingers rolled and straightened as heavy breaths left my chest, feeling like a sack of bricks, like I was going to burst at any moment.

“When I woke up, I found this in the car. I don’t know who it belongs to…”

Was this a kidnapping? And was this a ransom letter? I huffed, tearing open the envelope. Two white sheets were stapled together. It wasn’t a ransom.

My body felt too heavy for my legs, and I slumped into the nearest seat. My wife was pregnant. I was going to be a father! This should have been good news, but now, I had to deal with it under these shitty circumstances. Those bastards had my wife… and my child too.

Jasmine’s POV

The bright light in the room caused my eyes to twitch. I pressed them shut, my lashes fluttering as I slowly opened my eyes, squinting. My head throbbed. I clutched the sides of my head, groaning.

Why does my stomach feel so empty? A low rumble erupted, and I stirred on the floor. My hands flew to my stomach as the realization hit me—my baby. Memories flooded back: the nausea, Dr. Lee’s visit, the hospital tests… then getting into the car, Seraphina unconscious… and then, blackness.

Blackness? Where was I? My eyes snapped open fully, only to meet a spiral of light that stabbed at my vision. I blinked once, twice, thrice. The room was blinding. White walls. A white ceiling. It felt like I’d been caged in some sterile nightmare.

Everything hurt. My joints screamed; my body felt like a pincushion. Every movement throbbed in places I didn’t even know could ache. My lips were dry and cracked.
