Chapter 32
Chapter 32:
“Feelings, indeed. I doubt he has any,” I snorted, rolling my eyes. Rolling onto my stomach, I shut my eyes.
“He does have feelings,” her voice was low, almost a whisper. “But he’s had other women in his life.”
My eyes snapped open immediately, and I pulled myself into a half-sitting position.
“Other women?” I mused. Well, this was getting interesting—perhaps I hadn’t heard her right.
A small nod proved my doubt useless. As if I’d had a gun pointed to my head, I sat straight in my seat, frozen to the spot.
“There was one in particular. Her name was Isabel. They were together for a long time.”
I could feel my jaw clench. A long time—that had to mean something. “So, where is she now?” I asked too eagerly, not bothering to conceal my curiosity.
Seraphina remained quiet for a few seconds, a calculating look in her eyes. I knew immediately she was weighing the consequences of her words.
“She’s still around, but things between them are no longer the same,” Seraphina said cautiously, making me wonder how much more she was withholding. Her words angered me. The reality hit me, throwing me off balance. So, I was about to be added to the list of “many women.”
“So, I’m just one of his little projects?” I said aloud, despising the way my voice was filled with so much anger and envy.
Seraphina, reading my mind, shook her head quickly. “Not at all, miss. The Alpha wouldn’t have brought you here if you didn’t mean something to him.” In her voice, I recognized consolation—a poor attempt at it, for that matter.
My lips felt heavy as I stared at her skeptically, a lazy smirk on my face.
“Only time will tell. I don’t know how to feel about this,” I said tiredly.
Seraphina, sensing the tension in the room, quickly shifted the topic to the clothes hanging in my walk-in closet. The cloud of sadness hovering over me began to lift.

“Did you say new clothes? And shoes?” I could hardly contain my excitement. True to her words, I was left in awe. My gloom hadn’t allowed me to fully appreciate the beauty and grandeur of my new room. Large enough to be a small apartment, the walls were a shade of cream that resembled white. The minimalist interior featured furniture in matching white tones, accented by deep red curtains. It was magnificent.
The closet, on its own, was a mini paradise. A tall cabinet of designer perfumes occupied a quarter of the left side. Next to it was a rack of over fifty bags, all designer, I assumed. Clothes filled every single hanger, and my trinket box was filled with diamond and gold accessories, including leather watches.
As I arranged everything with Seraphina, I soon found myself exhausted. “So hungry,” I groaned as the sound of my stomach churned.
“Let me fetch you something to eat. What would you like for dinner?” Seraphina asked. She looked livelier than she had a few hours ago when I was questioning her.
“Pasta would be amazing,” I sighed. Her little feet moved past the door, and in a few minutes, she returned with a dinner of spaghetti with tomato sauce and meatballs, accompanied by a bottle of white wine. Just what I needed.
“Thanks,” I said, taking my tray from her, eager to fill my stomach. I chewed large swirls of spaghetti, each swallow accompanied by a sip from my champagne flute.noveldrama
I enjoyed the way the wine made me feel—lightheaded and free—an ironic contrast to my current situation. I felt invincible now.
Seraphina came back when I had finished my meal, her eyes widening. An expression of horror deepened on her face as the bottle rolled on the floor, empty.
My forgotten anger resurfaced. The term “many women” played like a tune in my head. I was going to be a fucking second choice. Maybe I reminded him of Isabel, and that’s why I was here. Downing the contents of my glass, I let out a contented sigh.
