The Heartbreak Prescription

My Dad Please Come 928

Halsey couldn’t believe that Shaun had been waiting for her.

She was the one he wanted to meet at the restaurant last night.

Halsey was stunned. She suddenly remembered how furious he had been when he came home last night and how he had pushed her down on the bed to punish her.

Did he think Geneva was her? That couldn’t be, right? noveldrama

Didn’t he hate her?

After all, she had broken up with him so coldly before. She always thought he must still resent her deep down.

Shaun looked up at her. “What do you feel like eating?”

“You pick,” Halsey replied softly.

Shaun went ahead and ordered a few dishes. The restaurant manager smiled. “I’ve got your order. Please give us a moment.”

The manager walked off.

Halsey turned to Shaun. “Were you really waiting for me last night?”

He glanced at her. “What do you think?”

If he really was waiting for her… Did that mean he wanted to be with her?

Halsey definitely wanted to be with him, too. But she didn’t dare ask out loud, afraid she would only end up disappointed.

Soon, the manager brought out the steak. Shaun picked up the utensils and began cutting the meat into small, neat pieces before handing a fork to her. “Here, eat.”

He even cut the steak for her himself. The warmth that rose in Halsey’s chest caught her off guard.

She picked up a piece and put it in her mouth.

Shaun watched her. “Does it taste good?”

She nodded. “Yeah, it’s really good.”

She hadn’t had much of an appetite since getting pregnant, but for some reason, dining with Shaun tonight made everything taste better. Maybe it was because he had prepared it for her himself-his care made it special.

Shaun smiled softly. “Then eat up.”

Halsey looked at him. He was being so gentle right now. She realized that Shaun had a bit of a beastly side-when his needs weren’t met, he was fierce and overwhelming. Once satisfied, he would pull back the sharp fangs and show this softer side.

After dinner, the two of them left the restaurant.

“Can you take me home?” Halsey asked.

Shaun checked the time. “It’s only a little past seven. No rush.”

“Then where are we going?”

“I’m taking you somewhere,” he said.

Half an hour later, the luxury car stopped in front of a private movie theater.

Halsey stepped out, surprised. “We’re going to the movies?”

Shaun looked at her. “What else would we be doing here?”

Her heart skipped. Was he seriously taking her to a movie?

Even though they had dated three years ago, they had never really gone on a proper date or seen a movie together.

Shaun reached for her hand. “Come on, let’s go in.”

They walked into the theater. Shaun asked, “What do you want to watch?”

Halsey randomly pointed at a poster. “This one. It looks like a romance movie. Let’s watch that.”

“Alright.” Shaun agreed.

They were led into a VIP room. It was a private screening space that Shaun had reserved just for the two of them-no interruptions, no strangers around.

Once seated, Shaun handed her a tub of popcorn. “Here.”

Halsey held it in her arms, the sweet scent of the popcorn filling her senses. She figured watching a movie together and sharing popcorn had to be what a real date felt like.

She popped one into her mouth. It was warm and sugary.

Shaun looked at her. “Is it good?”

She nodded and picked one up, holding it out to him. “Try it. It’s sweet.”

But Shaun didn’t reach for it. Instead, he looked her straight in the eyes. “Feed me.”
