Lila turned to the man. "Andy has the Moore family to protect him if things go south. But you don't.

"Did he promise you money? What if he goes back on his word and pins the blame on you? You'd get nothing but a prison sentence."

Back in the hospital room, Michael rubbed his growling stomach. "It's been half an hour since Lila said she'd be here. Is she trying to starve us?

"Or maybe she got too busy and forgot."

He scratched his chin. "Forget it, I'll call for a food delivery."

Matthew frowned. "What if something happened? I texted her earlier, but she hasn't replied. I'll try calling."

The phone rang multiple times, but no one answered.

"This doesn't seem right. We should check if she even arrived at the hospital." Michael pulled out his phone. "I don't want to call Mr. Morgan. You do it."

Matthew sighed. He was nervous, too.

But his worry for Lila outweighed his hesitation. After a brief pause, he dialed Kieran's number.

Cole answered the call and immediately went to inform Kieran.

Kieran's gaze darkened. "Matthew Quincy?"

"Yes. We also tried calling Lila, but no one picked up. Do you want to check with the maids and see if she left with the food?" Cole suggested.

Kieran called Vermilion Estate and confirmed that Lila had left over an hour ago.

Lila should have arrived at the hospital by now.

Cole frowned. "Maybe she got stuck in traffic?"

Just as he finished speaking, Matthew called again, his tone urgent. "Something's wrong. I called her again, but her car was parked at the hospital with the door open Her phone and the food are still inside, but she's gone. Michael is already checking the hospital's security footage."

Kieran's expression turned ugly. "Check the hospital cameras immediately. And track the Moore family, especially Dennis and his son."

He stood up and strode out. Cole quickly followed behind him.

Back at the abandoned building, Lila was dragged upstairs.

The construction had only reached the fourth floor. They climbed to the top, where there were no safety rails.

Andy gripped her arm, forcing her to stand near the edge as he peered down. "Look, it's just four stories. Would a fall from here kill you?"

Lila was certain Andy was insane. "Andy, wouldn't it be better to enjoy your life as a rich playboy? Why resort to committing a crime? You're digging your own grave."

His gaze darkened. "Pissing me off won't help you. You should be on your knees begging for mercy if you know what's good for you. Maybe I'd spare your life then."

A chill ran down Lila's spine. He wasn't planning to let her live?

Before she could process it, Andy pulled out his phone. "Call Kieran Tell him to get me full support in the Moore Group shareholders' meeting and secure my position as the head of the company."

He smirked when he noticed Lila's gaze. "I know he can do it. Why else would the shareholders' meeting have been moved up?

"And tell him to transfer all of Faith's shares to me. That shouldn't be too difficult, right?"
