Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now

Chapter 915

Chapter 915:

“What?” Linda was baffled, failing to understand him. “You’re this injured and you’re not going to the hospital?” Suddenly, she remembered that he had mentioned that he needed to be somewhere before the accident happened.

Linda tapped her foot impatiently. “You can’t possibly have other things to tend to now!”

“I do.” Eric confirmed with a nod.

He then looked over at Xander and Theodore, who climbed into the car, ready to follow him. Eric then told Phillips, “I’m in a hurry. Arrange another car to take Miss Harris home safely.”

“Okay, Mr. Flynn.”

“Eric!” Linda suddenly gripped the car door handle tightly. “You are not going anywhere! You need to go to the hospital now!”

Her gaze locked on Eric. Tears welled up in her eyes, and her body shook as she stood her ground.

Eric, unable to delay any further, looked at Phillips.

Phillips understood and carefully started to pull Linda away.

“Let go of me!” Linda resisted vehemently, struggling as Phillips maintained his hold on her.

“Drive!”

All she could do was watch, feeling powerless, as the car pulled away. After the car disappeared from view, Phillips finally let her go.

“Miss Harris, I apologize.”

Linda fixed Phillips with a furious stare. “Tell me, where is he going?”

Phillips shook his head. “Miss Harris, it’s best if you don’t ask about this.”

“I shouldn’t ask?” Linda narrowed her eyes, speculating. “Could he possibly be going to see Hadley?”

Phillips kept silent.

So Linda concluded that must be where he was headed. For Hadley, was he willing to risk his life?

The clock on the wall steadily moved past eleven.

Hadley frowned as she occasionally checked her phone, which remained devoid of notifications.

It appeared Eric wouldn’t be coming tonight.

With a soft sigh, Hadley hoped Joy would have a peaceful night’s sleep. If not, she would be disappointed.

Despite this, when the girl woke up in the morning, she would probably still be upset.

Hadley felt a twinge of resentment. Eric shouldn’t have made promises to Joy, knowing all too well how difficult it is to soothe a heartbroken child.

“Hadley.”

“Yes?” Hadley was jolted from her thoughts by Elissa’s voice. “What is it? Do you need something?”

“No, I don’t.” Elissa smiled. “Are you thinking about Mr. Flynn?”

Hadley was caught off guard, quickly shaking her head. “No, I’m not. Well, not like that, at least.”

Elissa’s smile softened. “It’s about Joy, isn’t it?”
