Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now

Chapter 914

Chapter 914:

“The brakes aren’t responding,” Xander said with a worried look. “They’re completely unresponsive!”

Theodore chimed in, asking, “Could this be sabotage?”

“It’s not just the brakes. Something’s off with the steering too!” The vehicle was now hurtling uncontrollably toward a pillar in the parking lot.

The potential for a disastrous crash loomed large.

“What should we do?”

“We need to bail out! It’s our only shot, Mr. Flynn!”

As the car continued to gain speed, the danger of jumping was clear, but it remained their sole option.

“Let’s do it!” Eric confirmed.

The trio quickly made eye contact, gave a collective nod, and flung the car doors open to jump.

Meanwhile, Linda and Phillips were right behind them, slamming on their brakes to avoid a collision.

“What’s going on?”

Linda burst from her vehicle the moment it halted, calling out, “Eric!”

“Keep your distance!” Eric bellowed just before the vehicle smashed into the pillar with a thunderous crash.noveldrama

Eric, having leapt from the car at the last second, was thrown clear by the force of the collision, tumbling across the ground.

“Eric!” Tears welled up in Linda’s eyes as she began to sprint toward him.

“Miss Harris!” Phillips quickly grabbed her arm. “Stay back—it’s too risky! Mr. Flynn wouldn’t want you hurt trying to get to him!”

As Eric came to rest on the pavement, his head struck with a heavy thud, blurring his vision and nearly causing him to black out.

Reflexively, he touched the back of his head.

His hand came away sticky and warm, reeking of metal—he was bleeding!

“Eric!” Linda broke away from Phillips, rushed toward Eric, and fell to her knees beside him.

Her forehead creased with concern, and her face turned ashen with worry. “Are you okay? Where are you hurt?”

She noticed Eric had just removed his hand from the back of his head and immediately took hold of it. “Let me see!” Her eyes welled up with tears at the sight.

“Did you hit your head?” Not waiting for an answer, she turned to Phillips and yelled, “Get the car! We need to rush him to the hospital now!”

She then turned back to Eric and supported his arm. “Can you move? Can you stand?”

“I can.” With her assistance, Eric got to his feet.

Xander and Theodore approached as well, both showing signs of injury but managing to walk unaided.

Phillips had already driven the car over. Linda gripped Eric’s arm. “Hurry, get in the car!”

“Alright.” Eric stooped to enter the car, but as Linda made to follow, he halted her. “Linda, you don’t have to come along. I’m not heading to the hospital.”
