Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now

Chapter 962

Chapter 962:

“Mr. Flynn,” Ayla asked, “Are you looking for Hadley?”

Eric raised an eyebrow and looked Ayla straight in the eye. “Do you know where she is?”

“Yes,” Ayla nodded and lifted the bag in her hand. “Hadley’s in the bathroom. She’s… not feeling well, so I’m on my way to bring her something she needs.”

“Not feeling well?” Eric’s brow creased with concern. “What’s the matter? Where does she feel discomfort?”

Ayla quickly waved her hand and tried to reassure him. “Don’t worry. It’s just…” She bit her lip, looking a little awkward, and then whispered, “You know, she’s on her period. I’m bringing her a tampon.”

That cleared things up for him.

So, Hadley hadn’t actually run off to avoid him when she saw him earlier?noveldrama

He remembered how her cramps used to knock her out cold some days. Was that what happened just now?

Eric nodded toward Ayla and urged her, “Go on. Don’t keep her waiting.”

“Okay, Mr. Flynn.” Ayla smiled and went on her way.

Inside the bathroom, Hadley took the tampon from Ayla and thanked her.

In fact, she was genuinely surprised. There hadn’t been any signs. No backaches. No cramps. None of the usual warnings that her period was about to start.

It must be those treatments she’d been trying lately.

When she stepped out, Ayla was still there, waiting just outside the door.

“Hadley.” Ayla approached with a bright smile and hooked their arms together. “The crew’s finished up outside, and they’re getting ready for dinner. Come on, let’s go.”

“Alright.”

Outside, several vehicles were already lined up.

Among them, Eric’s Bentley stood out. He was leaning casually against the door. The second she appeared, his eyes locked on her. He waved his arm and called out, “Hadley, over here!”

Hadley frowned, dragging her feet a little.

“Hadley!” Ayla lit up and tugged her forward. “Mr. Flynn’s calling you. Let’s ride in his car!”

With Ayla half-pulling her, Hadley walked toward the Bentley.

“Eric.” Just then, Linda appeared. She had already changed out of her costume and walked up to him with a soft smile. “Have you been waiting long? Sorry, the costume takes forever to take off.”

As she spoke, Linda made her way to the front passenger door, opened it, and slid right in.

Hadley stopped in her tracks.

“What was that?” Ayla scowled, her voice low but sharp. “Wasn’t Mr. Flynn here for you? Why did Linda just take that seat?”

Hadley smiled indifferently. “Well, looks like the Bentley’s off the table. Let’s just ride with the crew. Otherwise, we’ll have to call a cab.” One of the crew vehicles was parked close by.

Hadley walked over and asked, “Excuse me, is there still room in this one?”

“Of course,” said the driver, a young man who looked to be in his early twenties. His face flushed at the sight of such a beautiful lady. He fumbled over his words. “P-please, get in.”

“Thank you.” Hadley smiled at him, then called out, “Ayla, over here! Come on. Hurry up and get in!”

“Alright.”
