Chapter 312
The woman standing next to her was strikingly beautiful, though no one seemed
to recognize her at first. But as soon as they saw her close to Elysia and noticed the familiar eyes, they knew she was none other than Amara Sullivan, the esteemed daughter of the Sullivan family.noveldrama
The guest list for the birthday party was impressive, with many stunning debutantes and a few rising starlets in attendance. Yet, when Amara and Elysia made their entrance, they effortlessly outshone everyone else in the room.
Particularly Amara, who wore a sky-blue gown that complemented her exquisitely styled hair, which appeared effortlessly chic. Even without the refined attire, her beauty was undeniable.
The crowd fell silent for a moment upon their arrival, partly due to Elysia's presence. After all, she was the legitimate wife of Dorian.
"What are you doing here?" Dorian approached Elysia with a slightly darkened expression, his voice low and tense.
Elysia shot him a cold glance, ignoring his question, and walked further inside with Amara.
"Ms. Moon, Ms. Sullivan, welcome to my birthday party." Jessica greeted them with a smile.
Jessica looked like a darling princess in her cream-colored dress, her hair cascading in soft curls over her shoulders, radiating sweetness and charm.
As she joined them, she instinctively stood by Dorian's side. Together-him in a black suit and her in a white dress—they looked like a perfect pair, which only deepened the icy smile on Elysia's lips.
She ignored Jessica and addressed Dorian, "What? Am I not allowed to be here?"
Before Dorian could respond, Jessica quickly interjected, "Of course not, Ms. Moon, you're a guest of honor! We're delighted to have you..."
"You've got it wrong," Amara interrupted Jessica coldly. "She's not Ms. Moon. She's Mrs. Hawke. She's already married."
The simple correction visibly unsettled Jessica, causing her to bite her lip softly and glance at Dorian, whispering his name as if seeking solace from him.
Amara, usually the peacekeeper and one to avoid unnecessary conflict, couldn't stand seeing Elysia treated this way. She spoke up, "Why are you looking at Dorian? If I misspoke, you can correct me. What's your point?"
"Oh, isn't she always like this?" Elysia added sharply. "A hypocrite playing the innocent card."
Their words brought Jessica to tears, her eyes reddening visibly as she clutched Dorian's sleeve, searching for comfort.
Elysia's gaze fixated angrily on Jessica's hand clinging to Dorian, her lips quivering with fury.
"You two should head inside. We can discuss this later," Dorian suggested, gently removing Jessica's hand and stepping forward.
His tone brooked no argument, yet neither Amara nor Elysia seemed inclined to heed him. Still, standing in the doorway was causing a scene, with many guests already
whispering and watching.
Amara hooked her arm through Elysia's and said, "Let's go in."
They both strode confidently inside. As the esteemed daughter of the Moon family, Elysia was surrounded by many eager to converse with hèr. The Sullivan family, while not at the pinnacle of elite society, still commanded respect, and Amara's presence drew its own crowd, eager to engage with her at Jessica's
birthday celebration.
